Great location, delicious breakfast with a view over the ocean. The lobby area is very relaxing with a coffee/tea bar. Easy parking in the back of the property.

The hotel is very well situated, and overall the impression is very good. The restaurant is simple but okay. We were not impressed by the fact that our room had not been made up by 1:30 in the afternoon and we had to go and ask for new towels. The breakfast buffet is alright, but serving cold fried eggs and no bacon was not the best.

I am hard pressed to not make this an annual visit now. It was positively fantastic, though I still debate whether gulls at breakfast are a nuisance or entertainment. Staff forewarning me was extremely important and helpful (make that a standard statement by desk staff to newcomers!)

Loved the location. Loved the fantastic breakfast and free hot drinks all day downstairs. Didn't like the €15 a day parking charge. Didnt like the very limited menu of four dishes with the overpriced veggy option absolutely disgusting, literally inedible due to high salt content. Also didn't like the 'courtyard' view from the rooms which in reality is a view of all the massive heat recovery pupes on the roof. No suitcase stands in the rooms either which is a problem as are the huge pillows which are not comfortable. Overall okay and yes, were would go back.

Nice convenient hotel

Very convenient right by the beach. Ideal area for cyclists. Only 10 min walk to centre of Noordwijk. Great breakfast. Lots of choice. There are only 2 coffee machines , one is with oat milk, so there was a queue a few times. Good size room but shower has window into bedroom giving no privacy. Ok when you are a couple but some might be just friends or work colleagues. And if you have a sea view you also need to close the bedroom curtains otherwise you are visible to all. Why not make the shower window opaque? Or provide a shower curtain?

The property is on the seafront and in walking distance to Noordwijk amenities. It’s an old hotel and relatively small in comparison to nearby hotels. The bathroom is small and there is no shower tray so the entire bathroom floor gets wet when using the shower, a bit impractical as we didn’t have multiple pairs of slippers with us. Hotel’s parking is small and we couldn’t find a space to park, however managed to park outside for free. Due to late evening parties outside the hotel it was a bit noisy on Saturday night, it was the end of holiday season. The weather at the end of August was very windy, rainy and rather cold.

This is a great hotel for cyclists, as they have covered secure bicycle parking. We also loved the airy feel of the hotel, and the wonderful views of the beach. Breakfast is included, and really top-notch: bread, salmon, cheese, eggs, yoghurt, a really delicious granola, cut up watermelon, melon, and pineapple, and 2 kinds of pancakes. Staff are lovely. We’ve stayed there twice, and hope to stay there again!

Delightful hotel with one complaint

A very comfortable hotel on the beach—beautiful. Service is excellent. My only complaint is a shower designed by a voyeur—glass side to the bedroom. 😣

OVERPRICED, INFLEXIBLE AND BAD SERVICE!

Overpriced and totally inflexible at EVERY TURN! Not worth the money. Breakfast is a complete let down, no bacon. When I asked a server if there was any bacon, she gave me a blank stare and said NO. That’s it! No explanation or we’ll get you some. Which buffet breakfast has no fried bacon at its buffet? No complimentary late checkout at all. Was told it would be €15 per hour in addition to my €200 per night fee for one person. Shower is crap, as it’s next to the toilet, so the entire bathroom gets flooded when the shower is used. There are many other hotels on the beachfront. Give Hotel De Baal Seaside a miss, FORVER!

It is a nice hotel on walking distance to beach, restaurants and shops. Staff was very friendly! BUT the room was extremely small and much to hot. We had the window open 24hrs but it stayed very hot and unpleasant. The ridiculous window for the shower was hindering to keep the window open. You do not want to make it a spectacle. Therefore we will not come back and advice everyone to think twice before booking. We payed 515 euros for 2 nights.
