「One night stay. Very friendly staff. Lovely village location with nice view of the Wye valley hillsides. Very reasonable pub standard evening meal, breakfast was spot on. The room was clean and comfortable with all the bits you would expect, kettle with tea and coffee, a nice bottle of sparkling water, TV, good quality soap and shower gel etc. Great value for a very reasonable price. Add in that they served a well kept pint of Tribute Ale.」

「The public areas show off the heritage of this very old house to great effect. We loved the breakfast - both staff & food were outstanding. The extensive grounds contain the Golf courses, but even with magnificent trees and the lake, there is no escape from Golf. The only significant disappointment was Wifi coverage in the Mathern annexe. I spent far too much quality time back & forth to reception to no avail. 「My overall assessment on the stay would rate it no more than a three star. There are some minor maintenance issues that need to be looked into. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Food was very good and the full English was excellent. The idea of filling out what you wanted for breakfast the previous day was not really how I would like it as this might change, I would prefer to decide on the day. Conclusion: The accommodation was a little tired and in need of a spruce up.」
