Hotel is new and beautiful. Staff are very welcoming and helpful. Rooms are lovely and very clean. Hotel is spotless. Supplies in room are abundant. Buffet breakfast that is included was very good. Reminded me of Riu resort in Las Cabo’s Only reason I gave 4 star rating is the room was freezing when we checked in to it. They keep lights and heat off while not in use which makes sense for environment and costs. You must use your room card in room to activate. Very simple etc. But the room was so cold as our stay was during very cold temps in Toronto after the snow storm. We had to keep our coats and hats on for quite a while to let room heated up I think staff should have turned heat on an hour before check in time.

Hotel was beautiful and one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve had. The staff was so friendly and quick to assist. Gym was nice too! The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was when my room was cleaned everyday, it was only partially cleaned. Like they never reset or replenished the coffee station or threw away garbage which I found odd. Also, if you want late check out it’s $20 per hour.

Though the amenities are a bit lacking for a typical four-star hotel and there are many room fixtures that definitely prioritize vibes over practicality, I loved my short stay at Hotel Riu Plaza! Leading up to my check-in, they were very communicative the couple of times I reached out to them here on Expedia. The staff in the hotel were so kind, friendly, and ready to help, sometimes even pushing the elevator button in the lobby for me when my hands were full. Even during an arctic blast of a winter storm, the hotel and room stayed nice, warm, and cozy. I also love that they don't use super heavy comforters or duvets on their beds...they're nice, medium-weight comforters that are great for warm sleepers such as myself. Thank you for such a great stay during this big winter blowout!
