“We were glad to have a parking spot with this rental. We could not enter from the Queen Street side. The only entry to this basement property was a back lane littered with bins and trashWe were surprised by the spiral metal open stairs leading down to this basement apartment. We specifically chose this rental as we were travelling with our dog. She refused to go down these stairs. We appreciate that the owner responded quickly to provide a solution. “We were led to believe this was a residence in a nice low-rise condo in downtown Toronto. On arrival, we were immediately alarmed to find a seedy-looking and run-down building with a faded “Love Motel” sign on the outside, in a not-so-safe neighbourhood. The lot across the street was an open paid-parking lot with broken glass, garbage, and a small boarded-up building with graffiti on it. “DO NOT STAY HERE, IT IS A SCAM. This property is a cheap, dingy motel. It looks NOTHING like the picture. There is even a sign out front saying it’s a budget hotel with cheap rates. The room was dirty, dingy, had bugs, stains, and a musty smell. Dumpster was right outside my window. Bed had plastic around the mattress. The fridge blocked the way to the bathroom. The curtains didn’t block any sunlight. You can hear all the noise in the hallway very clearly. The TV doesn’t work unless you pay……
