Charming one bed gite in village location
Le Petit Bijou is only a short, level walk from the centre of the lovely village of Tremolat situated in the Perigord Noir area of the beautiful Dordogne valley.
Tremolat is a medieval village of enormous charm and is home to the renowned Vieux Logis hotel with its fabulous Michelin star restaurant as well as a traditional French bistro, a pizzeria, a cafe/wine bar which also sells regional produce and a village café run by volunteers. The village café offers a number of activities including themed food evenings and live music throughout the season. Trémolat has a excellent grocery shop for all your daily needs. It also sells fresh bread and regional produce. We also have a railway station with trains to Bordeaux, St Emilion, Bergerac and Sarlat.
As well as a small weekly market the village hosts various seasonal activities including evening marchés gourmands with street food, brocantes and live music during the summer months. The local campsite also offers a number of food and live music events open to everyone during the summer season.
We are ideally situated for discovering the culture and beauty of the Dordogne with a wealth of castles, bastide towns, caves (including the famous Lascaux) and gardens to visit. Sarlat, the most visited and renowned medieval town in the area, is less than an hour away.
Even closer is Les Eyzies-de-Tayac designated a UNESCO World Heritage site and closer still at only 7kms is the village of Limeuil classified as one of the most beautiful villages of France . Limeuil also has a river beach.
Slightly further afield are the beautiful vineyards of St Emilion and the lovely city of Bordeaux both accessible by train from Trémolat.
The area is also known for its wonderful markets including Issigeac and St Cyprien, both highly rated by locals and tourists alike.
Tremolat village is located beside the Dordogne river and is an excellent area for outdoor pursuits with its own water sports centre only a few hundred yards from the gite. The centre offers water-skiing as well as canoeing, kayaking and paddle-boarding. Cycling and walking are also popular activities in the area and we have bikes for hire at our property.
Accommodation:
The accommodation is located within the grounds of our 17th century farmhouse, yet retains privacy with separate entrance and courtyard with views of and access into the large, level garden. There is private parking in front of the gite.
It has a fully equipped kitchen with washing machine and dishwasher, shower room/ WC, a comfortably furnished lounge/dining room with satellite TV and a separate double bedroom. The gite has a private courtyard with table and chairs, loungers and a traditional barbecue.
Linen and a welcome pack are included.

Großartig!
Wir waren 1 Woche in der kleineren Gite. Die Fotos des Inserates sind genauso. Vorort war es noch besser. Die Ausstattung ist hervorragend. An alles wurde gedacht. Die Lage ist optimal für Ausflüge rundum. Die Aussicht in den wunderschönen großen Garten, der kleine Hof wunderbar. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen sehr gerne wieder. Vielen Dank Deborah.

Comfortable, well-equipped gite in lovely village
This is a very well appointed gite with a comfortable bedroom, well-equipped kitchen, generously proportioned bathroom and lovely courtyard. It is situated on the edge of a charming village, within easy walking distance of a boulangerie and three restaurants (one with a Michelin star) and a short distance from places in the Dordogne where you can walk and swim.

Bien situé
La location est très bien située pour visiter la région. Base de loisir et village à 3mn à pied. Propre, agréable et bien équipée, on apprécie le calme dans la cour privée. Propriétaires acceuillants et à l'écoute.

Charming, idyllic, the perfect Dordogne getaway
Tremolat is an absolutely picture perfect village on the banks of the Dordogne river and Le Petit Bijou was a charming base from which to explore. The gite is very comfortable and with all the amenities we could have wanted. It felt spacious for a couple and lovely to have the outside area for eating and relaxing. Deborah and Laurent were perfect hosts, welcoming and responsive but never intrusive. We travelled to Tremolat from London by train and were able to explore the region using the train and bikes we hired from Deborah and Laurent. Would definitely recommend and already missing it!

Superbe semaine !
Nous avons passé une excellente semaine dans cette location conforme à l’annonce. Le gîte est très propre et bien équipé. Les propriétaires sont disponibles et sympathiques. Nous avons pu apprécier le joli village de Trémolat qui dispose de toutes les commodités et de bons restaurants. Le Périgord ne manque pas jolies visites possibles (Beynac, Limeuil, Montbazillac, jardins de Marqueyssac…). Ne pas hésiter à choisir ce gîte idéal pour un couple.

Nous avons passe un tres bon sejour chez Deborah et Laurent, qui ont ete aux petits pour nous.
Le gite est tres confortable et tres bien equipe.
Le changement de linge chaque samedi etait tres apprecie!
Thanks Deborah for the welcome package, courgettes and farewell gift.
Merci Laurent pour avoir ete jusqu'a Brive pour remplacer le frigo defectueux dans la journee!

Motards bretons
Ce gîte porte bien son nom, la décoration est soignée,la propreté est irréprochable, il est fonctionnel ( grand rangement), au calme, le kit de bienvenue dans le frigo et la bouteille de vin ont été bien appréciés, grande place de parking , mitoyen à un autre gîte mais très indépendant, Déborah et Laurent sont charmants ( nous ont prêté leur grange pour garer notre moto ), ils sont très attentionnés et le mignon village tout proche est bien vivant avec bars ,restaurants et boulangerie.

Perfect
Perfect quaint gite in a great location. Quiet but just a couple of minutes to restaurants and bakery in the centre of the village. A beautiful area and Laurent and Deborah were lovely. Helpful and on hand when needed. We would definitely return and the goodies on arrival were much appreciated.
