It was too cold for the swimming pool as it is mid October, there were people using the hot tub, but I have one in my room and the sauna so why bother it was so wonderful and the staff was super. Christina was the most wonderful ball.

In the middle of literally nowhere (for me) but so peaceful and serene! I love the history of this monastery. I must say as a solo traveler I was a little nervous at first because it’s very remote. I saw maybe 3 cars in the parking lot and two other guests. But it was safe! Checked in and got a restaurant recommendation for Ristorante Conte Matto, ten minutes away in a small town. The food was excellent and my server was very friendly, even walked me out when I left. Definitely worth the visit. I had the room at the end of the building with the ginormous tub. It was clean, very spacious and simply furnished with a very comfortable bed and pillows. Not gonna lie, I did push my couch up against the door since I was alone but I went to sleep that night and had the most peaceful sleep, waking up to the most beautiful sunrise.

Beyond the peace and tranquility offered by the setting, it truly felt like the guests’ wellbeing was prioritized- the spaces (I viewed three before making a decision) were clean and orderly, the staff was incredibly attentive, the restaurant was enjoyable, and the overall experience was a very positive one.

We loved our recent stay at this property! I stayed with my partner on a part of our trip to Italy. The villa is quiet, and it was so fun to stay in an old villa that had been converted to small villas. We never heard our neighbours, and though there were several people staying at the same time it felt very private. Our room was comfortable. We did have a jacuzzi in our room, the only downside which we did not realize the first night is that you have to fill it up, which took about 30 minutes so took some extra planning but was perfect for our second night. The restaurant on the property was absolutely delicious and one of our favourite meals. Breakfast was delivered in a very cute box to our room. The property is beautiful and peaceful. We had a lovely stay!

Old world charm

The charm and architecture of these old world buildings was a special treat. The countryside was idyllic. Staying there is a different world for those used to western, industrialized cultures. And I appreciated that very much. Check-in receptionists were very friendly and helpful. One of them, Daniela, even offered me a ride to my destination a few kilometers up the road. I was asking about taxis, and for later a time at which she was leaving to go home. I really appreciated that generosity.

First, this is a renovated Abbey from the year 1263. It is absolutely beautiful. The rooms are large and most have great views of the surrounding area. Staff was very helpful (Patty and Danielle). Central location in the Trequanda region of Tuscany, but must have a car. Great restaurants, groceries, and other services in nearby Sinalunga. Also close to Montepulciano, Pienza, Montissi and Montalcino. We highly recommend this place.

Absolutely idyllic and magical property. Serene and quiet, away from civilization tucked away in the mountains of Trequanda. Perhaps one of the best resorts I have ever stayed at, not just in Italy, not just in Europe, but in the entire world. Definitely recommend a room with a jacuzzi and sauna, that is the moneymaker right there. The restaurant onsite is world class as well. All in all, 5 out of 5 stars, actually make it 6 out of 5. Definitely recommend and hope to return one day.

A bit like an episode of faulty towers. The staff seemed flustered and communication was very poor. The apartment was not at all as advertised and the member of staff couldn’t even get the door to unlock or lock again. They bought us a can of WD40 to spray into the keyhole and left it on our doorstep to use every time we needed to get in or out of the door. The air conditioning was broken which they didn’t bother to let us know despite it being 35-38 degrees during our stay. The apartment itself was dark and gloomy, which wasn’t helped when we had to draw the curtains during the day so people walking by couldn’t see straight into the bedroom when changing. There were squashed bugs on a couple of the walls and there was a small lizard running around in the bed linen. Despite having a restaurant on site there is no option to go for a normal breakfast and they don’t offer lunch there either. The pool water was quite dirty and the pool area was poorly kept with some patio tiles which flipped up as you stepped on them and un-mowen grass areas. The sun beds were old and didn’t fold flat and each room was allocated 2 beds in a designated area away from the pool. The whole experience was not one we would want to have again.
