Loved it! Spikes place rocks!

Big spacious place, nice rooms and a lot of beds. The snow made it look like a winter wonderland. The fireplace heated the front room nicely. The stores right across the street. Really loved our stay and we will be booking spikes place again.

This is a spacious condo with plenty of rooms and levels. The location is very convenient (with a nice market right across the street) but does have some noise from the road. The surrounding area and neightborhood are very nice. It's about a 5 mintue drive to Truckee. The condo itself has everything you need. There is some water damage on the interior walls, and the furnishings are a little dated. But it has character too! We didn't use the rec center, so can't comment, but it is just a short walk away.

Tired rental that needs some investment

Things we loved: dog friendly, convenient location, and ample room (surprisingly large). Cons: lacks basics (had 3 pots in the kitchen/no skillets), no dish towels, dining room lighting didn’t work, no hair dryer, etc. If this rental had a discount I’d cut the owner some slack here. But the reality is whatever good times this place hosted in decades past, it needs some investment. A few hundred dollars could resolve almost every issue but I don’t think that’s in the cards here. If you plan on cooking, adjust your expectations.

musty, smelly, dirty bedrooms & dangerous lower floor exit with broken glass

This cabin smells moldy and musty. We couldn't stay without feeling we were breathing mold or mildew. The bed sheets and were dirty, blankets appeared as if they had not been washed in years (definitely not COVID compliant), there are stains on the walls and ceiling, the floors and rugs were dirty, pillows and couch covered in dog hair. My daughter opened a door from the lower floor bedroom and encountered sharp, large broken pieces of some sort of glass. I would not recommend staying

Very old property

No blow dryer, the bath mats were very dirty. The condo is in a great location, but it is very old and poorly appointed. Old furnishings old blankets old appliances.

The pictures of the property online were not accurate at all. So they should really update that.

Overall we had a great time. The only thing that was a bummer was that we thought we were getting a different cabin from the pictures advertised online. They should really update that bc it was very different from what we were expecting. But nonetheless we made the best of it and t was still a great price for what we got. We would definitely rent this cabin again.

Fantastic Condo

Spike’s place rocks. Great location and a condo that maximizes all of its square footage. Located right across from the Z Market Place which you’ll visit when you forget to bring the bacon or need to grab a quick sandwich. The condo was very clean and well maintained. Couldn’t recommend more.
