The house was perfect for our visit to Donner Lake. It is on a quiet street and the neighborhood is great for walking. The public beach is a great way to spend the day and the Little Truckee ice cream shop is a must. The house had everything we needed for a great stay.

Donnor lake cabin

We stayed at this beautiful cabin on Donner Lake over the 4th of July weekend and couldn’t have asked for a better experience! The cabin was absolutely gorgeous—immaculately clean, beautifully decorated, and so well stocked with everything we needed. It truly felt like a home away from home. There were tons of fun activities in the area, from paddle boarding and kayaking to enjoying the festive fireworks over the lake. We loved having such a cozy place to come back to each evening. The kitchen had everything for cooking, there were games and comfy spaces for relaxing, and the hosts really thought of every detail. We can’t wait to come back—highly recommend for anyone looking for a perfect getaway on Donner Lake!

Nice home in great location

The home was nice and comfortable. Walking distance to the lake (west end beach) and the pub. Short drive to the market and other restaurants. A short drive to downtown truckee and Tahoe Donner. The beds were super comfortable and the home had a nice, spacious layout. Would recommend.

Sparkling!

I have rented in the West End since I was a child with my parents and this was my first time at this particular cabin. It was exceptionally clean, comfortable and spacious. Look forward to returning!

Better than expected

Home was very clean - we thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay. Spacious deck off the dining and living room and a quiet yard with chairs, great for reaxing! Kitchen was well equipped, there were plenty of bath towels, soap, tp and shampoo. Darling neighborhood with friendly neighbors!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We really enjoyed this rental for our family vacation with 4 couples and a couple toddlers. The rooms were comfortable and the loft with the pullout worked fine for the extra couple. Communication from TurnKey was great, the property was really clean, and the kitchen was well stocked. We also loved the location - close to the freeway, near the beautiful lake, and a short drive to a handful of ski resorts (Boreal, Sugar Bowl, Soda Springs, and Tahoe Donner). My only tiny gripes are that the TV downstairs is really tiny, the sound protection from room to room isn't great, and we had to space out quick showers to avoid running out of hot water. Overall a really comfortable place to stay for a few couples!

Perfect for the family!

In the past I have rented several cabins. This cabin was cleaned well. I would of liked to see another refrigerator in the garage to help with a weeks worth of food but overall I would recommend this cabin to any family.

Fantastic Stay at Donner Lake

The house was spacious and a perfect "base camp" for our week in Tahoe/Donner. We hiked the 7 mile trail around Donner Lake and discovered the perfect beach to come back to later in the week - China Cove. Great kitchen where we cooked most nights; Truckee dining is impossible (restaurants are short-staffed and by reservation only). Would definitely stay here again.

I HONESTLY THOUGHT SOMEONE RENTED THE PLACE AND SNUCK IN A DOG BECAUSE THE PROPERTY IS A NO DOG RENTAL. I FOUND OUT LATER THE OWNER HAS A DOG. NO DISCLOSURE ANYWHERE FOR PEOPLE WITH ALLERGIES FROM ANIMALS. WE ARE GOOD RENTERS AND WERE ASKED TO HELP OUT THE CLEANERS S0 THE TOWELS WERE WASHED, SHEETS OFF BEDS AND GARBAGE TAKEN OUT..... I'M NOT QUITE SURE WHAT MY CLEANING DEPOSIT WAS FOR???? I'M NOT ONE TO EVER WRITE A REVIEW BUT HONESTLY WE WERE SO EXCITED ABOUT OUR STAY AND TRULY THE HOME WOULD OF BEEN PERFECT IF I DIDN'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT MY DAUGHTER AND HAVING TO SLEEP AND SIT WITH THE DOG!!

We loved the big windows, the deck, the dining table, the comfortable bedrooms and nice bathrooms. The kitchen was nice for cooking and to be included in the living area. It was great having a bbq and the garage. The location allowed lovely walks to the beach and in the neighborhood. 2 suggestions are a good can opener, and it was confusing to try to store food we brought that didn't belong in the refrig. We managed though. It was a great location and very nice home!

The home was well stocked— way more than most rentals we’ve stayed in (extra sheets, blankets, towels, spices, laundry soap, even shampoo and conditioner for several days)The beds were comfortable and the 3 bathrooms were so great. Clean and updated is what I look for and found here! The use of the garage and beach chairs was very nice. We will definitely stay here again. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Reviewer Comments: Very nice cabin -- updated with nice cabin feel on a quiet street, within a mile from the West End Beach on Donner Lake (best beach location on Donner). It's a bit a drive for essentials in Truckee (about 15 minutes), but nothing too inconvenient. One downside for the summer is there is no A/C: Normally this is fine in Tahoe due to big drops in temps overnight, but we had a string of 90+ degree days, so some of the nights were uncomfortable. But in general, the cabin was really nice and plenty of room for me, my wife, our three young kids and my mother-in-law.

Perfect for families!

This amazing cabin was perfect for our two families (4 adults, 3 kids). It's located in a nice neighborhood near Donner Lake (we'd love to come back in the summer!) and just a short drive to Safeway and downtown Truckee. We skied at Boreal which was convenient - about 15 minutes away - and perfect for our kids. The living area is open and spacious and the kitchen is fully stocked so we were able to enjoy home cooked meals our entire stay. The kids all slept in the loft area which they loved. The backyard was nice and safe for playing in the snow also. The rental process was super easy. We'll definitely stay here again!
