“Went to check in at the bar, was taken to the unmanned reception then forgotten about. Stayed on two occasions and happened both times. It seemed staff were more focussed on bar customers than staying ones. Staff got dinner booking times wrong twice and failed to inform me about the option for a larger cooked breakfast at Idle Rocks. Room was lovely and got an upgrade which was appreciated. The heated towel rail was great for drying clothes off after walks in the rain. Suitable for independent……

“Just stayed for 2 nights, the Inn has 12 rooms free fast wifi, and the two rooms we had, family room and standard room, were spacious , clean, and lots of hot water for bath and shower, and we had a virtual check in, we booked pre covid-19, for a great price from Hotels.com, and it was great to see that that the inn hadnt closed down, it was a pity the restaurant and bar were closed, but we undertstand why! The full English breakfasts were cooked to order, and there was a lot of leeway ……

“This is a very run down establishment and does not match the details provided . Rooms are not ensuite, carpets and other areas are old and dirty. There is a strong smell of smoke pervading the place - indeed the landlady was smoking downstairs while we were having breakfast. The bar was closed before 9.00pm - no customers apparently.
