Hotel Antonio

10/10 Excellent

"We stayed 2 nights in the penthouse suite (June 2026). Parking is hit or miss...there are 4 spaces next to the hotel, otherwise you have to park down the side, hugging the wall, or on the border of some scrubland - this seems to be the norm for the area. There was no charge for parking. A lovely warm welcome from the lady on reception (sorry I didn't note your name). Our room had amazing views over the city and ocean and were modern & clean. On arrival the air conditioning wasn't working in the main living area but this was swiftly attended to. Kitchen was useful and we cooked on both evenings so as to enjoy the large terrace which had plenty of outdoor seating and sun loungers. We set the hot tub water temp to 35c which was perfect (outdoor air temp was around 29c) and made good use of it. Just a few mins walk downhill to the promenade with lots of bars and restaurants. Easy flat walk to Makarska centre and a very picturesque walk around the headland. Breakfast offerings were a little disappointing - the coffee machine was downright awful (a grey sludge) so on the 2nd day I paid a little extra for a proper coffee, which was lovely. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Our only wish was that we had booked a longer stay!"

"This is an excellent hotel on the quieter side of Tucepi, a quaint sea side town. Stayed 2 nights and had a great experience. The room was spotless and the staff were really friendly and helpful. Loved being so close to great local restaurants - everything we tried was a short walk away. Would definitely stay again."

Bluesun Hotel Marina

"The Bluesun Marina Hotel is just okay — and that’s being generous. If you’re expecting anything beyond the bare minimum, look elsewhere. First, the name. There is no marina. We specifically booked here because we wanted a boat to pick us up at the hotel, only to find out the actual marina is a 15-minute walk away. That’s a significant misrepresentation. The “sea view” rooms are equally misleading. Yes, the room faces the sea — but mature trees block almost the entire view. You’re paying for a view you can’t actually see. The food situation is frustrating. Only breakfast and dinner are served, in a cafeteria-style dining hall that feels more like a college campus than a hotel. No room service at all. Want a soda in the afternoon? You can’t get one at the cafeteria. You have to trek through multiple buildings and take two elevators just to find a drink. And forget about bringing ice back to your room — no ice machines, no buckets, nothing. The hotel itself is clean and functional, so it’s not a disaster. But the combination of misleading marketing (the name, the view) and the lack of basic hospitality conveniences (room service, accessible drinks, ice) made the stay genuinely disappointing. If you’re looking for a no-frills place to sleep and don’t mind the inconveniences, fine. But don’t expect anything resembling a real resort experience — and definitely don’t expect a marina."
