"We had a wonderful time. It is a beautiful bed and breakfast in the mountains overlooking the ocean. We brought our dog who had lots of space to run around, and Luigi made sure we had a pack and play for our 14 month old already in the room when we came. The room itself was decent sized with its own patio and private entrance. The breakfast was great and it is served in a beautiful room surrounded by glass overlooking the pool, which overlooks the ocean. We will definitely be going back!"

Grand Hotel La Playa

8/10 Good

"The location of Grand Hotel La Playa is perfect. This beach was clean, wonderful to walk along, and the water was perfect. Our stay was Sept 15-19, 2026. Weather was still very hot and sunny. The hotel includes 2 beach loungers and an umbrella. They assign which one you get to use, so sometimes that is a bit odd, as we were set up next to other guests, when so many other lounge sets were empty. But that wasn’t a big problem. Their breakfast is included, and coffee needs to be requested/ordered via the waiter. Food at the breakfast buffet was plentiful. Egg bites, cold cuts/cheese, toast bread, toaster, yoghurt, milk, cereal, tea, fruit, juices, and best of all…every table was served an entire plate of tasty sweets for breakfast. Croissants, cookies, plum cake, etc. A nice treat. The restaurant also has à la carte options if needed. The beach has a cute hut serving drinks/sandwiches and that is appreciated. Walking into the strip where restaurants are takes about 10 minutes…and walking into Sperlonga historic area is a HIKE. It’s uphill, cobble stones and lots of steps, but absolutely stunning. Well worth it, even if u have to stop and rest along the way as I did. There is parking permitted here, I am not sure if it is included. The rooms were comfortable, towels were fresh but there is only small bar soap and small bottle of shampoo provided. No other amenities. No water bottles No coffee/kettle We enjoyed our stay."

"Breakfast was the same everyday. The first night we arrived we asked front desk for recommendations on a restaurant for dinner and they told us they have dinner menu at the hotel. We had dinner and we were very disappointed with our food. They had a set menu. They had a buffet station with salads and fruit. You were able to choose one of 2 pastas and one of 2 entrees. Me and my husband had a combination of the food so we can try the different foods. Both pastas were barely room temperature Fish was dry and cold seemed like it sat out for a while before serving. Meat was room temperature and tough. Did not enjoy this at all! Beach umbrellas and 2 chairs were 30 euros where the beach right next door was 15 euros and another one was 20 euros. We stayed at beaches next door! They were great and had a restaurant as well that was very good. Why spend extra money?? Overall experience was ok"

"The breakfast was among the most excellent on the whole of our trip to Italy. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable. Disappointed that we booked a superior double room and were advised that we were “upgraded” upon check in to a family room which was in the basement! No option given. It was quiet and dark but not what we booked. Hotel is NOT near the beach so don’t be fooled by the pics. Property was lovely but very dated and in need of update."
