"This was the first time I stayed at the Menger . It was very comfortable and right in the heart of the Alamo Plaza. The Alamo was a short walk across the street, shopping and fine dining all within a few minutes walk. The valet parking is a little expensive for me, but very convenient. They have a nice restaurant and bar downstairs, room service for the early morning breakfast in bed, and the first floor is like a little time capsule of this historic hotel. I'll come back in a future visit and stay a little longer "

A few noticeable areas needing repair in the room (torn curtain, stained couch), bathroom (stained, worn out tub) and elevators, but otherwise, great. Great location, walking distance to many restaurants, Riverwalk, Alamo, and Alamodome. Great breakfast! Friendly, helpful staff. Would definitely stay again."
