Top University Church of St Mary the Virgin Hotel Reviews
City Guesthouse
8/10 Good
"i was a bit scared after seeing so many negative reviews but after staying here, it was literally fine!!! you gotta keep in mind this is a huge university town, of COURSE it will be loud! however, we were not terribly disturbed by the noise- it really wasn't bad at all, i didn't get woken up by any noise. the beds were also fine. yes, there was a bit of an odor, but it was not horrible. the room was small, but fine as we were out and about a lot of the time/didn't stay in the room for a lot of the day. yes, it's a shared bathroom but i didn't have any issues with that. it was clean and i never had to wait to use it. i actually do like how there was a full kitchen too, even if it was shared. i didn't encounter anyone else while i stayed even though there were others there. overall, absolutely fine place to stay!!!!"
"The hotel was spotless and well situated. However the main plus was the staff. Polites, helpful and super efficient. Breakfast was busy but the team were fabulous. Front desk, especially Swapnil, were the most courteous ive encounter in the UK for some time."
"Great hotel, quirky rooms, clean, well furnished, and comfortable. Staff super friendly, including bar / breakfast staff and desk staff. Felt really welcome. An extremely positive experience "
"Location was perfect and staff were attentive and helpful. Older, but clean and charm with history. Proper bar mixologist and good comments about the breakfast from colleague. I would have appreciated a gym facility, but otherwise no complaints. Would return."
"Staying at The Store was a pleasure. The staff were incredibly helpful, friendly and polite. The room was comfortable with excellent facilities and a beautiful calm interior decorating scheme. I would happily stay again if visting Oxford."
"Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Wonderful staff prepared our room in advance with towels folded into 2 Swans, for our wedding anniversary, accompanied by rose petals. Warm and friendly. "
