"Adequate for a solo traveler to Rome. Just be aware if you are a US traveler (or someone who lives in cool climates): the air conditioning in the rooms is woefully inadequate during the dead of summer. I went on the hottest week of summer in Rome and my hotel room did not cool down to “room temperature”, i.e. 70 degrees (20.5 Celsius). It was fine for being able to sleep, but it’s telling when after 5 days the first time I was able to feel like I had solid air conditioning to feel like I was home was on a bus ride to Pompeii. Aside from that, it’s a cheap option for someone who wants to travel to Rome on a budget. I would definitely staying here in the winter though."

"We found this hotel to be wonderful for our stay in Rome. The staff were exceptionally helpful. They arranged transportation for us from the airport to the hotel. They also allowed us to leave our luggage at the hotel the day we checked out until 9:30pm when we needed to head to the train station. Everyone we encounter spoke excellent English, and they were easy to communicate with. The air conditioning worked great in our room, and we didn’t have any issues with anything in the room. There is a hairdryer provided which was nice since we came from the U.S. and have different plug-ins. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted and visited all of the Rome highlights. We felt safe staying at The Hive Hotel. We would definitely recommend to others and would stay here again ourselves."

"If you don't mind taking the bus to the main sites and you're looking for a good hotel that is safe, clean, comfortable, and well equipped with great air conditioning, a small kitchenette, housekeeping service, and really helpful staff, then this is the place for you. We were a family of five, and the room was very spacious and well equipped. We spent three nights there and used the bus to get everywhere. We purchased a three day transit pass, and the bus stop is literally right outside the hotel across the street. Once you get used to the system, it's quite easy to get around. There is also a good supermarket and a laundromat within walking distance of the hotel, which makes this place really convenient for families."
