"A terrible check in experience. I was not greeted other than asked if I was checking in. I was not asked if I had stayed before. A machine would be more welcoming. I paid a lot of $$ for the location so perhaps asking for a professional hospitable experience is too much. My room was prepaid and I provided a credit card for any incidentals. The machine did not work. No apology was given and in fact I was made to feel it was my error. I cannot recommend staying at the Fairmont Vancouver Airport. If you just want a room to sleep in because you have an early flight. Stay elsewhere and take a cab or Uber to the airport. For the price I was very disappointed. I am old enough to remember this type of check in experience in the 1980's. Cold, Aloof and the feeling you are the problem and an inconvenience to the clerk. I did not leave looking forward to my next stay. I left remembering there are other options for my to spend my money and this will not be one of them in the future."
