Great Family Home

We had a wonderful time in this spacious family home close to beach access. The only problem we had was the elevator did not work for most of our stay (we reported and an elevator tech came and worked on it and it worked for a day but didn't work after that). Although this was an inconvenience for us it could have been a problem if we had an elderly or handicapped person because there are ALOT of stairs in this house. But other than that, the house was well equipped and very family friendly. We would definitely come back (if we could have assurance of the elevator working!)

This is a lovely property and was ideal for our needs. It was very well equipped with all the kitchen supplies one could want along with comfortable and spacious bedrooms, and entertainment areas. Unfortunately, we encountered some issues with the property: Dirty floors, Mold in Pantry, mildewy shower curtains, filthy AC filters. These issues were reported and promptly attended to. We also experienced an unclean swimming pool, loose pickets on 4th floor deck (very dangerous for toddlers), electrical outlets in garage not working, hole in 3rd floor ceiling, filter in pool room not changed. We noticed numerous cosmetic issues that did not affect the quality of our stay but will likely become larger issues if not addressed. Things like water stains on ceilings, cracked caulking, rotting wood on 3rd floor deck, etc. I know this may seem like a litany of complaints, however I want to assure you that we had a wonderful vacation at Croatan this year and hope to return. I also hope that we left the house as you requested.

The property was very nice. It was fully equipped with with everything we needed. The pool, pool table and foos ball game were definitely a hit for our family vacation. The neighborhood was great and the location to the beach just a short walk. There were so many attractions and restaurants which also made the location of the house great. We even were able to ride the bicycles. The house does have 4 floors with a lot of stairs. There is an elevator which stopped working. The staff at Anchor Reality responded quickly to my message about the elevator and had a service man out the next day. I also received a call and message with the time to expect the service. Overall, we had a great experience and look foward to making another family vacation at this property.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Property had a great location, a ton of space, and an optimal layout for our group of 10 adults and 2 kids. There were lots of beach and kitchen supplies, although many of the kitchen items needed to be rewashed before using. There was also supposed to be a mid-week pool cleaning that didn't occur, but there was a hurricane the week we were there so there may have been more pressing jobs elsewhere. Overall it was a great stay and a home we would consider renting again if we go back to Virginia Beach.

Homecoming Week for my Navy Son

That was what we were told and that is what we got.Bike riding through this neighborhood was awesome and then going to the Virginia beach boardwalk was eas. We all enjoy that and even rented more bike at Cherri's next to Watermans restaurant. The weather was great all week. The eleven of us were comfortable. When we first arrived there were some issues with the overall cleanliness and I did call Anchor Realty immediately. We cleaned it ourselves - countertops, pool deck, inside floor of the elevator, etc. The elevator was a plus for my 83 yr. old mother. The refrigerator ice maker is broken, and the garage refrigerator smelt like fish. Figured out ourselves how to open the garage door opener inside about three days into our stay. Cleaned up an umbrella inside the garage to use on the pool deck table all week. Swept up the pool deck and in particular under the big pool table. Had to clean the very dirty grill with minimum worn grill brush. Should have brought my own I guess. We used it for lunch a few times. Could not eat outside because the flies were brutal. Bringing the grilled food in and out to the level to the kitchen area was a workout getting into and out of the alarmed pool deck slider. Had to tighten various door handles with my own screwdriver. Had to borrow a HDMI cable for upstair TV DVD player so we could watch the movies we brought and returned that to one of the TVs in the bedrooms. Sliding door shades, and a couple of window shades were missing or broken in a few rooms. One chair leg was already was broken in the bottom floor bedrooms. You could tell that the property has got some rental use "wear" indeed. We worked through it. The pool was also awesome with the outside shower. It's door had loose screws that were tightened but kept loosening on usage. Recommend tree trimming on the side of the house.because that is overcoming that side beyond the roof lin

Location is terrific, a short walk to the beach in a nice neighborhood. Spot is convenient for VA beach boardwalk and restaurants, close to water park, golf and aquarium. Spacious kitchen to accomodate cooks with everything you need. Nice deck on third and fourth floors for ocean views and star gazing. We really love this house, it works so well for our family. We alternate beach and pool daily, so the kids are all happy. Each couple has their own sleeping space and the kids have a great room, bunk beds, table, foosball and tv all to themselves. We have already made plans to return next year. Beach chair, toys and transporter to take them to the beach which is just around the corner.

It had everything that we needed, a fully stocked kitchen, outdoor space, a nice sized family space off the kitchen, a great pool, bikes and chairs for all, beach supplies, linens, we had a wonderful time. Close to the boardwalk and aquarium and restaurants. The beach is great just a short walk away. Anchor realty was a pleasure to work with, quick response to any question we had.

Great family gathering place

Our family vacationed together here and had a wonderful time. The house is in a great location. The bedrooms are very nice, the master is huge and has its own deck. The kitchen is open to the living room which makes for great interaction when preparing meals. The kitchen is equipped with all the items you need for cooking. The outside grill was a bonus on the deck right near the kitchen so transport of food is easy. The grand children loved the bunk bed room, enjoying their own tv and table game. The pool had some great floats and a shady area with seating. We will definitely return

Coastal Escape Review

The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to prepaid meals from 50+ place settings to every small appliance you could name. There are lots of pool blow up items, pool basketball etc. every bedroom has a flat screen tv, many games, bikes, helmets, etc, However, the pool and patio area was very dirty, kitchen stove; not all burners work, fourth floor deck was not useable so best view of the ocean could not be enjoyed, light bulbs were out. Some bathtubs, water came out with something that looked like black soot. Pool cleaning system does not work. Makes using pool unpleasant. Owner needs to address the issues; the. House would be great.

The house was beautiful and we had no complaints about what was provided. There are a few things that would have made our stay better ~ there were several things in disrepair and the house was not as clean as should have been when we arrived. Tj Anchorage team came right away to fix the areas that needed repaired, but that was an unexpected inconvenience.Thanks Anchorage for an awesome vacation!!

For one the mattress were hard and every couple complained. The door from the kitchen to the deck was VERY hard to open bad close which made it difficult to grill and enjoy the deck.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is our 2nd year staying that this great Croatan property. My familyLoves the size of the house, location and proximity to the beach. The house is always clean when we arrive. The kids love the pool. My only recommendations for changes would be to add more pots and pans. The size of the few that were there were too small for cooking for large families (which is what you get in this size house). It also lacked cutting knives. Other than those minor things we enjoyed our stay and will rent again next year.
