Permitted Hawaiian Princess - High floor, amazing view, ocean, turtles, sunsets

This one bedroom beachfront condo at the Hawaiian Princess Resort in Makaha is on one of the very best beaches on the island. This high floor unit has a spectacular sunset ocean view from the lanai, one of the best on the entire island. The condo has not been remodeled, but it has been very well maintained and is very comfortable. It has a king bed (with three inch memory foam topper) and a comfortable queen-size sofa sleeper. The unit also has cable TV in both the living room and bedroom, 5G wifi, beach equipment and everything else that you need for your stay in paradise including free AC. There is also a pool, hot tub, game room, BBQ area and secured, gated free parking. Best of all, it is directly on one of the best beaches on the island. Also, this is the sunny, leeward side of the island where the weather is almost always perfect.

Note: This part of the island is a mixture of socio-economic backgrounds. We have multimillion dollar homes mixed with lower income housing and unfortunately, some homeless camps. There are camps on the west side because of the great weather, but there are homeless all over the island, especially in the big city. The average price of a home is well over a million dollars here. That prices a lot of people out of paradise. That being said, you are much more likely to be a victim of a crime in Waikiki or at a tourist destination than you would be at the Hawaiian Princess. We are a gated and secure building. Most people leave their lanai doors open 24/7 to let the breeze come in and to hear the sights and sounds of the ocean. Just as an FYI, we live in the area, and we have never had an incident related to the homeless, except maybe someone holding a sign looking for a meal or a couple of dollars.

Condo is exactly as pictured, it was clean and organized! The check-in directions are accurate and once we were in the unit, it was easy to come and go as we pleased. Easy access to the beach and we saw some beautiful sunsets from the balcony (11th floor). However, three out of the four nights we stayed, the A/C did not work correctly. The first night there was a large power-outage, the second night the A/C simply turned itself off in the middle of the night, and the third night it stopped blowing cold air (most likely the coolant was out). We contacted the host and they replaced the A/C unit with one that worked much better, however, my husband had to assist the owner in moving the unit out and putting a new one in. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, our evenings were simply full of bad luck.

They went out of their way to make our arrival special for our granddaughter who just graduated high school with balloons and decorations. The condo was very nice and had everything we needed, including 3 beach chairs , hot cold bag for shopping or beach. Washer dryer was a plus. The view was spectacular especially the sunsets. We will be back for sure! Aloha for now

Makaha and Waianae are great -- but really only if you have a local contact and reason to be here. Great beach and flat. Some small issues related to noise of AC in bedroom and ceiling fan that did not work. Otherwise, nice flat with great view. Recommended to all.

Great place to stay!

This is a great place to stay if you’re looking to get away from the busyness of Waikīkī! There was always room on the beach and the balcony was a great place to enjoy morning coffee, watch for turtles and listen to the waves crashing on the beach. If you plan on doing a lot of touristy things, it can be a bit of a drive (totally manageable). If you’re looking for a place to stay with easy beach access, this is it!

Excellent private property

Condo was perfect! Clean, and easy to access the room key/code on arrival. Well stocked with supplies and utensils needed for the kitchen. Nice balcony setup. Excellent views, sea turtles. Beach supplies were nice, chairs, umbrella, etc.. beach was private, and not crowded at all. If you like to be out of the city in a less crowded area you will love it here. Would definitely stay here again.

Anniversary and family trip

My wife and I wanted to go somewhere special for our anniversary. The fact that my daughter lives in Makaha Valley made the decision a slam dunk. We found a room at the Hawaiian Princess and couldn’t have been happier. Extraordinary beach and location made this the perfect spot to stay. Whale Watching From the Balcony

Beautiful waterfront view in a secure complex. We sat on our balcony each morning drinking coffee watching the whales spouting/spraying and tails slapping. It was an amazing way to start the days. Everything about the stay was great.

Paradise!

My family and I had an amazing time at this condo. Kathy and Mike were outstanding hosts, and went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and needs were met. The view from the lanai is unbeatable, and it’s something we will never forget. We also enjoyed how the beach was not crowded at all. If we ever find ourselves back in Hawaii, we will be staying here.

Amazing Location!

My incredible boyfriend surprised me with a 2 day getaway to this romantic beachfront condo!!! Of course the best part was spending alone time with him but the next best thing was the breathtaking ocean and sunset views from your own private lanai! The water is a beautiful clear turquoise blue, perfect for a morning spent drinking coffee and spotting sea turtles from the fully furnished lanai. Both the indoor and outdoor furnishings have a lovely island-influenced flair, which added to the charm of the condo. There is an onsite pool, hot tub, and outdoor grilling area for guests to enjoy. The condo also provides a small kitchenette, queen sized bed, and big screen TV for downtime. Although the condo is equipped with central air, we preferred to fall asleep with the lanai doors open so we could hear the lullaby of the ocean and feel the cool gentle breeze. The customer service from the staff was exceptional. Although Hawaii has a heartbreaking homeless problem, we felt safe and secure under the watchful eye of the staff. This is a great place for a couples seeking romantic vacation or honeymoon. I can't wait to go back!!!

Very nice property, but…

We weren’t prepared for the homeless camps all up/ down the beach. There are 3 visible from our balcony, although not technically on the property itself. The surrounding area is very rundown. O’ahu has changed since the last time we were here and not for the better. Very sad.

Paradise surrounded by Tent City

The unit itself was excellent and offered everything we needed. It needed some minor attention in a couple of areas, but overall was very nice. View of the ocean and the surrounding mountains was breathtaking. Unit is very secure with gated access and security to the property to get onto the elevators and access to the pool and beaches was nice. Owners provided beach chairs, umbrella, snorkel, boogie boards, towels, plenty of linens and kitchen needs. The negative was for a few miles leading up to the condo, there were homeless people living along the beaches in tents and broken down vehicles. We were never bothered by any of the homeless people, but we were on extra guard during our time away from the condo. We would not stay here again, because of the homelessness, which the owner cannot control. If the property was elsewhere, we would for sure stay in it again.

The condo is beautiful - as advertised - with great amenities for the beach. We love the Princess and stay there every time we're in Oaho. Nothing is better than the aloha of Oaho and the wonderful Hawaiian people.

AWESOME place to stay!!

My wife and I stayed 5 nights in this beautiful condo! We LOVED it! Impeccably clean, quiet location, safe & secure, great drive up/down the coast to get back/forth to Honolulu to see sites there, and do views of the ocean or sunset get any better?!? I enjoyed snorkeling and seeing lots of sea life, including turtles. Owner and host Kathy was also exceptional in communication and hospitality. Book it! We'll be back!

Perfect hidden gem, in otherwise questionable neighborhood

The condo unit is great! Has everything you need. It is lovingly maintained, and comfy and cozy. Nice new appliances. Note there is no dining/breakfast table, and the bar stools are the wrong height (counter vs bar), so only place to sit for a meal is on the balcony. Otherwise, it is perfect for a quiet retreat. The neighborhood outside the condo is pretty awful. Tents everywhere. Rundown shops, lots of sad poverty to look at on your drive. Nothing nearby to do, and not a neighborhood you'd want to still around. As long as you are prepared for it mentally, it won't affect your stay. The condo itself felt very secure, like a little happy bubble. Overall fantastic!!
