Beach House Getaway, Steps From The Beach

Down a dead end private lane you will discover our restful home. There is lots of natural light in this home with the large windows and skylight. There are partial ocean views from the home and front deck with the beach just a short walk away (2 minutes). Miles and miles of beach are there for the exploration and it is an easy walk to the quaint town of Waldport or Patterson Beach State Park next door.

The house features a master bedroom with a king size bed and master bath with a tub and shower. There are also 2 private rooms. The maximum occupancy is 6 persons. There is a large living room with sofa, recliners, tv entertainment center with cable tv and dvd. Open dining room with island kitchen and walk in pantry. Full bathroom off utility room and hall.
Outside there is a large covered back deck and open front deck.

The location is as convenient as they come on the Oregon Coast. Waldport is only minutes away and features restaurants, groceries, etc. Waldport is home to the Alsea Bay where there is world class dungeness crabbing and salmon fishing. Waldport has the 9 hole Crestview Golf Course less than a 1/4 mile from our house. Coastal landmarks such as Seal Rock, Devil's Churn, Cooks' Chasm, Spouting Horn, and Cape Perpetua are less than 10 miles away. To the north 16 miles is Newport where you can visit the Oregon Coast Aquarium, Hatfield Marine Science Center, Rogue Brewery and the Historic Newport Waterfront.

We chose this rental for the king bed and the location, both of which were good. The owner gave directions to the house in advance which was nice. Entrance to the house was difficult because there were two lock boxes and no directions as to how to get the key out of the box. The routine cleaning of the house was fine but the house is in need of a deep cleaning and reorganization. The kitchen drawers, shelves, and pantry needed reorganizing and cleaning. There was not any open shelf to store our groceries. The closets were cluttered so difficult to use. The blinds had slats or wands missing and the very old lamp by my bed was broken. The window valances were layered in dust. The decor and the house were dated. The beer bottles lining the top of the kitchen cabinets made us feel like we were in a college apartment and were not in the online pictures. There was no soap for the showers, only nice bottles of hand soap for the sink. The exterior of the house was rusted in places and there was not any indication of landscaping or a garden as indicated in the description. There were lots of puzzles and games which would be fun for a famiy.

Comfortable bright beach home. Very well supplied. Short drive/walk to miles of sandy beach. Reasonable driving distances to several quaint beach towns. Nice westside deck for evening/sunset viewing. Sunny eastside covered deck for enjoying your morning libations. Yes, we will be back to this home away from home beach house.

Lovely house with ocean views

We stayed here for a few days in July and had a lovely time. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. You can see the ocean from the living room, and there is a nice back porch. The neighborhood was quite, and you couldn't hear any road noise. You can walk to the beach through the neighborhood, but it's quite a steep drop to the first step on the makeshift stairs once you reach the beach. If you have mobility concerns, you can also access the beach from the Governor Patterson Memorial State Recreation Site, which has an entrance the next street down.

Home away from home.

We enjoyed our stay! Having a beach access and views of the ocean from the living room was high on our list. It did not disappoint. It was a quite street. The beds were comfortable. The location was excellent for exporting both North and South on the coast. We did a fishing trip with Trade Winds out of Newport and had a great experience.

We have stayed here 3 years in a row. It feels like home. The house has all the amenities anyone needs for a wonderful vacation. We love it. We are booked for next year. Don't hesitate, if your family likes a beach vacation, you can do no better than this cozy home away from home.

Definitely needs some maintenance

Overall, the place is comfortable and well-stocked. The beach access is nice and neighborhood is quiet. There is definitely wear and tear showing in the house. We noticed that the front door is very sticky to open during the day, but at night it was next to impossible to get the door open. I literally had to have my husband help open the door. If there were ever a fire there, this is going to be a death trap. The master shower was not draining at all, and my husband ended up fishing a disgusting, smelly glob of hair out of the drain the size of a muskrat. I took a picture of it, but I can't insert a pic here. One of the sinks in the master didn't drain either. You'd think the cleaning people would notice and address that. The towels all smelled musty and like they'd be left to sit and stew in the washer for too long. Ick. Like I said, this place was OK, but not great. We wouldn't stay here again.

The perfect place for us!

Everything was as described except the walk to the beach isn't 5 minutes--more like one minute! The walk itself is pleasant as well. The beach is great, the house is great, the back yard has bunnies and hummingbirds all around. The house itself is roomy and supplied with everything you need. And Waldport is close to other popular places like Newport, Depot Bay, and Yachats. I like that it is a smaller town than the others places, but it also has plenty of great stores and things to browse. My whole family loved it!

House was amazing along with the beach being just down a path. House was more updated then the pictures posted. Couldnt be more pleased with the place for our short stay. We will definitely be back in the future.
