We recently stayed in this apartment for a few days while visiting Washington, D.C. It was perfect for our family of five. The apartment was clean, well-maintained, and had just enough space for everyone to be comfortable without feeling cramped. What really made this place shine was the location. The neighborhood was fantastic - safe, walkable, and charming. The proximity to several restaurants made meal times much more convenient. Overall, a great experience and we would definitely stay here again!
We enjoyed our stay in DC. The property was lovely, just as described! We enjoyed walking to the local cafe/bar for during our stay. Highly recommend and would stay again! Thank you!
Our family of 5 enjoyed staying here for 4 nights as we toured DC. Master bedroom is very comfortable and the other sleeping arrangements are great for kids.
We really enjoyed our stay at this property. The apartment is well designed and was perfect for our family. Great location, convenient to metro, museums and monuments. Clean, well-stocked, and great communication from owner.
Loved our stay, very communicative, with lots information about where to go for food, popular spots and transportation. Safe neighborhood to walk around with many places to grab food . Short drive to many of the monuments and museums.
Overall a nice stay. Description of the property was accurate. It Had everything we needed and was close to all the historic sites.
On the downside, WiFi service was poor. Had to use cellular network for our devices while in the apartment. Also not sure why there's no TV in the master bedroom
This property is a real gem located in a convenient and lively neighborhood in DC. Clean, beautifully appointed and quite spacious, this basement apartment had everything our family of 4 adults could want. The pull out sofa and convertible beanbag bed offer versatile sleeping arrangements which are hard to find in many properties. The hosts were extremely responsive and great to work with. Overall an excellent choice for a visit to Washington.
We really enjoyed our stay at this property. It was the perfect place to rest and recover from our days of sightseeing. We had a car so we drive to the mall each day and it was only about 15 minutes. Parking was very convenient at the apartment. We never had an issue finding a nearby spot.
Master bed was very comfy and the rest of the sleep arrangements worked for our kids. Kitchen was stocked with supplies which was helpful. Lara was very helpful and communicative from booking to check-out. We would stay here again and will recommend to friends as well.
My teenage sons had room to relax and chill - and I did as well. The (manageable) cons are that the water pressure is low and it was too far (IMO) for us to walk to the Metro (Uber). Pros include good local food, a relatively quiet neighborhood, and a home-like atmosphere to return to after a long day of sightseeing.
This was the best vacation we've had and I'm so grateful to have had a VRBO that helped us make these great memories of our stay in Washington DC.
This is a great little place in a cool part of DC! We stayed for 3 nights with three teens, and we felt it was perfect ! Clean, really really comfortable, and the neighborhood was nice with a fantastic pizza place within walking distance. Parking was hit or miss, but overall not terrible. Subway could have been a little closer , but not terrible. We mostly ubered to the museums , which was around 18-$22. Not bad. I would def come back and would definitely recommend
We enjoyed a lovely trip, the property was a great home-base as we explored the sites of DC and had meetings with our legislators. Lovely location, easy to walk to restaurants and access transportation. The pull-out couch with curtain provided privacy for our adult son as we would wake up earlier than him. The kitchen was well equipped, we made breakfast every morning and did some light cooking one evening. Our host was quick to respond to questions as well as provide recommendations which were helpful in planning our stay. If we have the opportunity for another visit, we would stay here again. Thank you!
When we arrived, the apartment was extremely clean and had everything that we needed. We were 4 adults and the sleeping arrangements were very comfortable, and the kitchen was great! Overall, we had a fantastic experience! The only very minor comment we have is that when we arrived, it was dark outside and it was extremely hard to find the apartment number. (It was above the entrance). If there's any way to illuminate the number, that would make it much easier to find. The entrance is small, so it wasn't obvious from the street. Other than that, we were extremely happy with our stay!
It was a great space to stay in for a trip to the museums. The neighborhood felt safe and had lots of walking food options that are celiacs friendly.
Unfortunately it rained the entire time we were there and I and my daughter ended up getting the flu bad and we saw next to nothing! I will say, after being sick as a dog in a space that is not mine, it could have been waaaay worse. The king bed is so very comfortable! I was very grateful for the laundry as it helped our situation a lot. Will definitely look to stay again when we give this trip a redo. I hope I checked out ok. I and my daughter were very sick and feverish when we left , it was unusually overwhelming. Not the fault of the owners at all. They have a great spot.
I needed a place to stay for work for 2 nights, hotels in the area are so $$$$ and the parking cost s fortune! This space was perfect. Nice neighborhood with people walking dogs, parking (with a temporary pass) was not a problem at all. My ONLY thought about this property is the front door- it’s transparent and when you sit on the couch you feel like you can be seen which felt weird for me (yes you are below ground but that was uncomfortable for me being alone in an unknown city). Yes there are little footsteps upstairs but it is VERY limited and honestly I found it comforting. One last thing……. The bed and pillows were so so so awesome I want to sleep there again! Thanks
There is a lot to like about this getaway in the heart of Washington D.C. First, it's important to note that the property is just as described and the pictures represent the space well. We started the visit with 4 adults, before our daughter returned to college after the first weekend. I think the space was a little cramped for 4, but was perfect for the three of us. We generally made breakfast in the house, and there was a good set of provisions for cooking. That is you would definitely be able to make complete meals.
The neighborhood is great. We stopped and talked to a few people walking dogs or kids. It was very nice, and had really great restaurants right around the corner. Make sure to get reservations for the Red Hen and check out Etabli for wine and light tapas-style small plates. We also did a lot of walking, including down to the Smithsonian museums. It was a bit of a walk, but easy to find our way.
Overall, we really loved our week spent at this property, and would definitely return if we were back in the DC area.
This is a lovely home, exactly where we needed to be! The neighborhood is beautiful and quiet with plenty of available parking. The host/ management team was on top of every question I had.
The home itself is exactly as described. The bed was very comfortable and the optional second bedroom was a game changer! Clean, well maintained- you won’t go wrong renting this home!
We loved staying here. The place was clean and the owner was responsive. Internet could have been better. Outside of that would recommend. If y’all are ever in central Texas we have a country house we would love to host you too.
