HATHERLOW - Idyllic Private Retreat in Charming Wedmore
Brand New Listing as of October 2025!! We are offering special new listing discounts and last minute price reductions for Hatherlow - a spacious 4-bedroom home nestled in the historic village of Wedmore on a quiet road with no through traffic. The house offers comfort and style for families, couples, and small or large groups alike, It has enjoyed a fully comprehensive renovation, completed in August 2025.
No worries if you are a group of 4 or fewer guests, as the base price is calculated on 4 person occupancy, and the final price will depend on the actual number of guests in your group. We are also able to provide you with a cot and/or highchair for infants if required.
Wedmore is perfectly located close to many local attractions and activities that are suited for all ages and tastes. For international holidaymakers wanting to see a mythical and historic and part of Britain (that is not London for a change) Bristol International Airport serves many destinations, and is only half an hour's drive from the house.
Hatherlow is a 145 m2 house situated on a plot of 1,015 m2, with views over open fields from the rear garden lawn and patio, while the large front garden is shielded by trees and hedges, lending the space a heightened sense of privacy and serenity.
Exterior entertainment areas include a large deck with gas-fired barbecue (perfect for alfresco dining) two lawns, a hammock, a large patio, and a 15 m2 summerhouse, ideal for yoga, working out, games, quiet reading, Internet surfing or streaming movies from your laptop onto the external monitor provided.
The summerhouse also has an office space with a desk and external monitors for those on a working holiday, or simply wanting to remain connected (with a 950MB fibre-optic router).
The SW-facing 35 m2 patio, plus lawn and vegetable garden area catch the morning sun, while the front NW-facing deck, lawn and garden enjoy the rays of the setting sun.
The patio has a fire pit and atmospheric exterior lighting that can be turned off for star-gazing, as there is very little light pollution. The front garden has up-light illumination for the trees providing a magical touch to evenings on the deck.
The house has a fully-equipped brand new open-plan kitchen with breakfast bar that connects with the indoor and outdoor dining areas. The indoor dining room table is expandable from a 4-seater to be able to cater for 12. This allows for a lot of flexibility in eating and seating arrangements. The kitchen was installed in April 2025, and is fitted with a double oven & grill, 5-plate ceramic hob, microwave, air-fryer, fridge-freezer, dishwasher and a larder with slide-out shelves for easy access. Most of the kitchenware, glasses, cutlery and plates were renewed in August 2025.
The dining areas flow through into the lounge, which boasts a large 65" TV screen and opens out onto the rear garden patio providing a line-of-sight back through to the front garden deck. New furniture for the lounge the patio and the front deck was purchased in September 2025.
All bathrooms are brand new and with modern fittings as of May 2025.
All beds, mattresses, bedding & linen is brand new as of September 2025.
There is room to add a cot into any of the bedrooms. Please advise in advance if required. Bedding for infants should be provided by the guests unless otherwise arranged with prior notice.
The wide hallway connects all rooms in the house. It has a writing desk, bookshelves with an eclectic mix of reading material, and a chest of drawers with quiz and board games for differing ages. There's a cupboard for hanging coats and storing suitcases, as well as a hallway mirror with extra hanging space and a shoe rack near the front entrance door
