Perfect place to unwind!
We used the house for a mommy weekend recharge! The waterfront property is beautiful and serene. You feel like you are in your own little slice of heaven with amenities a short drive away. Will rebook for sure!!!

Wonderful Stay

Wonderful Family Winter Weekend Getaway
The photos of this property are lovely but do not do it justice, it’s even better in person! The water views from the home are wonderful and we loved that you could see the creek from all bedrooms as well as the kitchen and family room. The home is thoughtfully furnished, impeccably clean and fresh and comfortable. We loved the sunny screened porch and the sitting areas down by the dock, perfect for morning coffee, listening to the birds, or enjoying a gorgeous sunset. My husband and I had a great time kayaking (there were the cutest river otters on the water), and our teens enjoyed the compass entertainment complex with mini golf and other games just up the road. There are so many great restaurants and shops in proximity too. The owners were gracious and prompt about answering our questions. Will definitely need to come back again, everything was fantastic!

Excellent property and setting!
Great kitchen and living area layout and each bedroom has an en suite bathroom. The owners are thoughtful and helpful if you have questions. Bright, clean and well organized. It is a great location with good visibility of the creek.

Lovely house
This is not only a lovely property but also was well equipped with everything you need. Owners are exceptional. You can tell they have a love for hospitality. Very relaxing atmosphere and the neighborhood and nearby towns are more residential than they are tourist oriented.

A Good Time Was Had By All
The house is delightful - clean, laid out well, and decorated beautifully (we loved the little crab sculptures). Our teenage daughters thoroughly enjored the size of the second-floor bedrooms, their own private bathrooms, as well as the TV nook, and of course the WiFi. Mom and Dad took full advantage of the screened porch and their accompanying ceiling fans. The kitchen had everything we needed and the grill did a fine job. The kayak launch is a nice touch. We took the kayaks out nearly every day and were surprised every morning to find we were the only ones on the water as far as the eye could see. The entire week was very quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed some good meals at The Local, The Office, Chesapeake, Fish Hawk, Car Wash Cafe, and especially Adrift. We did have a hard time finding live crabs at the local markets and I regret not using the crab trap that was sitting on the dock to catch my own! The only drawback I can think of is the creek is not conducive to swimming because of the plethora of jellyfish. We could really have used a dip in the water considering the temperatures reached 100 a few of the days we were there! We became exceptionally envious of the neighbor's pool on those days. We were able to cool down during a movie at the Compass Entertainment Complex which felt like it was cooled to meat-locker temperatures. I'm making it sound like the house doesn't have a/c - it does, we just chose to spend most of our time on that screened porch despite the heat!

Sweet location
This lovely, well-appointed home is right on the water, with a gorgeous view from the screened porch. The dock and kayaks were wonderful, as were the grill and outdoor seating. The home is clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for our week-long stay. We'd go back in a heartbeat!! The setting is sublime, and the quiet was restorative for work-addled brains. Perfect Family Vacation
This property is just as described. The house is beautifully and comfortably furnished/decorated and impeccably clean. Views from every room are fantastic, and having an en suite bath for each bedroom is a terrific plus! The dock/water access was perfect for fishing and kayaking. This is a perfect location to enjoy the Northern Neck.

The Best of the Best!
The property gave us everything we expected and more; properly outfitted by the wonderful hosts, plenty of towels, dishes, glassware, utensils, etc., extremely clean, plenty of parking, very quiet location on the water and even kayaks for my daughters to enjoy. The location is just a short drive away to some wonderful restaurants and shopping. This is a top tier property! I can't wait to go back!!!

Beautiful house, beautifully situated
The property was completely as advertised. It is a very lovely, beautifully maintained property and sits on a spacious piece of land with a beautiful view of Taylor Creek. We particularly enjoyed the kayaking from the excellent dock, and the very comfortably furnished screened porch. We had never been to the area before, so we were a little disappointed by how far we were from the ocean, but that really was our own fault for not checking the geography more carefully. Even with that disappointment, it was a lovely, and much enjoyed getaway. I would also note that the owner was extremely welcoming and immediately responsive to any questions or any issue that we had.

Great mini-vacation
This house on Taylor’s Creek was in a super quiet location, with water views from every room in the house. It had everything we needed for cooking great local seafood and other local items from the farmers market and shops. There are plenty of nice restaurants within a 10 minute drive. The property manager provided all of the info we requested. We just need to schedule our next trip when the stripers are close by.

Exceeded Expectations
We have rented many places for our vacations. Some were as nice as described, and some were not as advertised. Our impression the moment we drove up was, Wow! This is so nice. We opened the door and as we looked around, we felt that this home was nicer than advertised. We loved the decor and the cleanliness, which is so important! It is a homie and comfortable house, and we certainly enjoyed our stay. The sunroom and the dock with its peaceful view, were two of our favorite places to hang out and relax. As a host, we found Lynda to be amazing and very thoughtful. The kitchen was well equipped, as was the rest of the house and the outdoor areas. We give this home five stars without any hesitation. We recommend it to others and would gladly stay here again.

Wonderful Family Getaway
We had a fantastic time staying at this absolutely beautiful property. The layout was perfect for our multi-generational family (downstairs master suite, ensuite baths with each bedroom), and we particularly enjoyed the huge screened-in porch for eating and relaxing. The dock and kayak launch made getting on the water a breeze, especially for kids and older adults. This location is so peaceful and quiet. We had easy access to town (Irvington, Kilmarnock) but felt like this home was such a retreat. It was a perfect place to sit and enjoy bird watching and wildlife, but it was also a great stepping off point for exploring the Northern Neck (beaches, farm markets, restaurants, etc.) Our host was extremely attentive when we had questions upon arrival, which we appreciated. We can't wait to return!

Beautiful River Escape
This is a wonderful, well-appointed house overlooking a calm river in a quiet part of Virginia. It’s a perfect weekend retreat. The house was spotless, with an enjoyable screened in porch three bedrooms and a comfortable living area. The host left a bottle of wine and everything in the house worked better than one could imagine. It’s a great quiet getaway with the potential to kayak and paddle board on the river.

Wonderful Property-Has everything you need!
The vibe of this cottage, inside and out, is so welcoming. It is tastefully decorated and spacious-3 bedrooms, each with their own bathroom. Our stay at the waterfront cottage met all our needs and then some- well stocked kitchen, lovely screened-in porch, waterfront view, and access to kayaks. Great property and logistics
This is a new owner of a property that had many great reviews. We were a group of 5 adults and the 3 BRs and 3.5 baths worked great. We loved the peace and quiet, especially having coffee in the morning on the porch. The view of the river was ideal. We used the kayaks twice and the clever launching system made it easy to get in and out of them. We picked up lunch one day and ate at the table near the river, which was an unexpected plus. The laundry machines came in handy, too. Lynda made check in easy and was easy to work with. We wish her well with the new property.

High School Graduation Weekend

Everything and more!
Words aren’t enough but I’ll try. My family had the best vacation we have had in a very long time. This house is so well equipped and so well stocked with appliances, spices and utensils it is just like being home. Comfortable and beautiful. We enjoyed the back porch so much even in the rain. So peaceful, exactly what we were looking for. We loved being able to kayak with the kayaking equipment supplied. The owners were so generous with a welcoming gift that was completely unexpected. It is our hope to be able to come back in the years to come. Thank you so much for allowing us to use your home. Only downside was the week went by too fast❤️

Anniversary Trip

Perfect In Every Way
Some friends and I recently enjoyed a terrific stay at this property. Very clean, very well maintained with tasteful furnishings and a well stocked kitchen. The property is private yet only a few minutes away from town. Saw deer in the yard every morning and caught some decent fish from the dock. Kayaks were available, but we didn’t have a chance to enjoy them. Owners communicated thoroughly and offered early check in and late check out without needing to ask. A+ in every way.

Beautiful home, Wonderful location
Girls' Weekend with long time friends. We absolutely loved our stay in Weems. The house is beautiful. Everything about it was clearly well thought out. Amazing views from the house as well as the dock area. Location was very good as just a short drive to Irvington or Kilmarnock. So much to do in this area; we could not fit it all in! Relaxing at the house, kayaking, walking the former golf cart trails at Hills Quarter, mini golf, nice meal at Vine, wonderful sunset sail with Captain Clay (Sail and Surf Adventures), shopping, and lots of conversation catching up with each other. We had a great time. Many thanks to Cheryl and Jimmy for allowing us to stay at their lovely home. They were great hosts. We hope to be back!

Beautiful getaway with a view
This creek-front property is clean, spacious, and relaxing with a beautiful view. The house is great - clean, well-appointed, spacious, and comfortable. My in-laws appreciated the master suite with no need to climb stairs. My kids loved their room with games and a tv-nook right outside for them to enjoy. The screened in porch was the highlight for all of us. We enjoyed taking in the beautiful view and the space to relax and enjoy meals regardless of the weather. The dock and kayaks are great - lots of fishing and paddling! Kids also enjoyed mini-golf and go-karts nearby, as well as hiking Hughlett Point. Other than jellyfish in the creek, it was perfect! We'd definitely recommend it and hope to come back to this beautiful property someday.

Kayaking at the rivah
It was a beautiful house, well equipped and a perfect size for the 5 of us. We had a wonderful time kayaking and enjoying happy hours overlooking Taylor's Creek. Food shopping was easily done in nearby Kilmarnock and Dredge and The Office in picturesque Irvington offered great dinner choices.

Thanks for sharing your home with us. We had so much fun. The house is beautiful and comfortable! We especially loved hanging out on the screened in porch.
