Excellent
We thoroughly enjoyed our family holiday in 'Chesil Watch'. It was superbly equipped. The bungalow was clean and thoughtfully decorated. We appreciated the lovely welcome hamper.
The peaceful setting with access for evening walks along the beach, to enjoy the sunset, was a delight.
The bungalow is down a mile long single track which, for us, made it the perfect location, but that is something for potential guests to consider. We loved it!

Great location and views
A really roomy and well equipped property - very much a luxury feel. It's remote - very quiet and down a long narrow road (with reversing needed at times back to passing points - although this was only needed once in our case - and also up a slope into the drive to park). Lovely night skies visible and just moments from the beach. Not a swimming beach - there's one of those 20 minutes drive away, but spectacular sea views from the kitchen, dining and living areas and the main two bedrooms. You can see all the way down Chesil beach and the light on it changes throughout the day. You can walk 25 minutes along the coast path to two good restaurants in the next village - itself a great walk (and you can come back along the top of the hill). Abbotsbury itself is also walkable (around 35 mins), as are the sub-tropical gardens which are well worth a visit.
Only slight niggles while we there: hot/cold turn in one of the upstairs was very stiff and in the other upstairs ensuite the water was never that hot for some reason; in the two downstairs bathrooms (one ensuite and the other virtually ensuite) the heated towel rails were on full blast and couldn't be turned down (in summer not great and a waste of energy). Other than the towel rail, seems pretty eco-friendly though - they have solar panels and a heat pump. They could do with a compost heap too though and better instructions for recycling.
None of the above detracted - it's a fantastic property and although it sits in with other properties close by, you really don't notice them at all - it was detached and very quiet. We'd certainly go again.

a very pretty and comfortable house in a beautiful secluded location
This house, with large windows looking out at Chesil Beach and rolling farmland, is secluded, quiet, well equipped and totally satisfying. The lovely decor, the cozy rooms and comfortable furniture, the well equipped kitchen and spacious dining room, the excellent beds and pretty bedrooms make this home one of the best of the houses I have rented all over the world. The owners went to the trouble of tastefully decorating the house for our Christmas stay, including a Christmas tree. A few problems cropped up and they were dealt with immediately. We loved this home and were sorry to leave it.

Relaxing holiday in a peaceful location. If I have a criticism it would be that windows need cleaning, nearly all had cobwebs and dead flies in them

Critique of Chesil Watch
The internal fittings were not of sufficient quality for the cost of the house. The furniture (other than the beds and bedding which were excellent and the kitchen which was well equipped) felt cheap and the plastic plants and flowers were frankly unacceptable in what should be a luxuriously finished property. The outside space is disappointing as it feels like a car park and there is no view. We had to sit on the drive and move chairs each time a car was moved. The upper lawned area needs to be levelled in part so that it can be used properly to eat and sit out on and the current seating area needs planting to make to more pleasant.

Chesil Beach Luxury
Had a great week here. Property in amazing beach front location between Abbottsbury and West Bexington. Magnificent beach in front of you and lovely countryside behind you. House is luxurious and very well appointed in a very quiet location. Great views along the coast of sunsets in the evening. Lots to do in the area and the house is a perfect base from which to explore it all. Highly recommended.

Stunning property in a stunning location
This house is situated 2 miles away from it all, and so is tranquil and peaceful. It’s a stones throw from Chesil beach and wonderful views. The house has been tastefully modernised and there is ample room for a large family. We hope to return which is as good a recommendation as you can get!
The house is absolutely lovely and the view is even better. We didn’t realise we’d be that close to the sea which was a great surprise. The house is well equipped and the layout is perfect for families. The welcome hamper was a lovely touch too. The nearest village of abbotsbury was beautiful, you almost feel like you’re in a time warp. There’s also a great park for the kids, with a nice view of St.Catherines chapel. We’ve had such a lovely break, we didn’t want to leave! 11/10 😊
