"We received a room upgrade due to being assigned the wrong room upon arrival. The room was brand new and large with a comfortable bed and huge bathroom. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant meals were excellent with good portions. And the pool with the swim up bar was a welcome treat. portions. "

"Writing this review to quiet some of the concerns of the previous reviewer… this rental was amazing! First, the views cannot be beat and the outdoor deck living space is just wonderful. It is the highest location in this particular spot of Basti, with amazing views and a breeze. It’s basically a very unique tropical jungle treehouse high above the town. The ACs in the bedrooms work very well and there is consistently hot water, with strong water pressure - things that are hard to find on Basti! There are 77 steps (not “literally 97” like another review mentions) but more than half of them are steps from the road and through a little wooded area. The main staircase up the side of the house is about 30 steps straight up and is sturdy. Small price to pay for the incredible view you get in return. And you’re pretty much always sweating in Basti anyway so not a big deal, haha. Yes, there is a bar on the water that plays very loud music some nights - for us, it was only loud Saturday and Sunday night and we were there for 7 nights. Anywhere you stay in this section of Basti will have this issue too, this is not unique to this rental property. We brought earplugs and that helped tremendously. The place was very clean upon arrival. Yes, bugs are around as it’s a jungle, this is not avoided anywhere on the island.We have been to Basti twice and would stay here again in a heartbeat. It’s a special island, this is a special house, and we had a magical time! "
