"I have stayed here many times, and the relaxed vibe always brings me back. The grounds have one of the best sunset views. The staff is fun and attentive. We think the restaurant has some of the best food and drinks in Bocas. It easy to get a water taxi to Isla Colon or other islands. You can relax by the pool, enjoy the beautiful garden, or read a book in your over the water cabina."
"The Red Frog Resort is a beautifully located area. Although it rained for most of the time, the beach and property are amazing. We saw sloths, monkeys and of corse the red frogs throughout our stay. "Writing this review to quiet some of the concerns of the previous reviewer… this rental was amazing! First, the views cannot be beat and the outdoor deck living space is just wonderful. It is the highest location in this particular spot of Basti, with amazing views and a breeze. It’s basically a very unique tropical jungle treehouse high above the town. The ACs in the bedrooms work very well and there is consistently hot water, with strong water pressure - things that are hard to find on Basti! There are 77 steps (not “literally 97” like another review mentions) but more than half of them are steps from the road and through a little wooded area. The main staircase up the side of the house is about 30 steps straight up and is sturdy. Small price to pay for the incredible view you get in return. And you’re pretty much always sweating in Basti anyway so not a big deal, haha. Yes, there is a bar on the water that plays very loud music some nights - for us, it was only loud Saturday and Sunday night and we were there for 7 nights. Anywhere you stay in this section of Basti will have this issue too, this is not unique to this rental property. We brought earplugs and that helped tremendously. The place was very clean upon arrival. Yes, bugs are around as it’s a jungle, this is not avoided anywhere on the island.We have been to Basti twice and would stay here again in a heartbeat. It’s a special island, this is a special house, and we had a magical time! "
