"I am really suprised how much I liked this hotel. It's quite old and rooms need a proper refresh, however it was really clean and spacious. Traditional style was a great experience! (There is an instruction in the room how to do the futon). Staff doesn't speak English very well, however I was able to communicate with them enough, so it wasn't an issue at all. They also have printed papers with the most important details in English. To sum up, they were really nice and helpful. Hotel is located next to the bus station, where there are buses to popular towns around Fuji. Generally, having a car would be a plus, however I only used the public transport and can say that's doable (local commute and express busses to Mishima, Tokyo, Gotemba etc.). It's a calm place (I was there in Dec 25), that is definitely not as crowded as e.g. Fujikawaguchiko nearby. I have to also mention about the hotel's location and its views that are really amazing. Lake Yamanakako is sooooo beautiful. Really, there is no need to go to more touristic places to see wonderful things. There are planty of places around to hike and of course to do great photos of mount Fuji. To sum up, I highly recommend this hotel!"
