Bed wasn’t very comfortable and the pillows were horribly uncomfortable… other than that the owner/employee was weird… stood outside the door while we were unloading just watching… kinda creepy… it was clean in the room but I’m 5’2 and couldn’t reach the shower head to adjust it…

The only good things I can say are that it was affordable and available when nothing else was. The room was in horrible condition. Paint torn from the walls. Rusty fixtures. Peeling paint in table tops. It was noisy and we wondered if people lived upstairs. The manager was nice but the whole place was a wreck. With no other availability in town it was suck it up here or sleep in the truck. The bedding appeared clean. But the mattress was rock hard.

BEWARE! From Bates motel appearance, stale smelling room to a creepy feeling.  Very 1st thing was being told I booked smoking.  She'd gladly move me to a nonsmoking room for an extra fee. I should have pulled up the reservation.  Later I had time I found NO I indeed booked nonsmoking.  The owner was walking by so I let him know the error.  Basically I got a "you should be grateful" speech.  On how they gave us a good room, pet deposit down the road was higher, how his security cameras are on.  I knew then instead of a simple mistake, it was bait & switch scam.  They DO NOT honor the price on Expedia.  It's just $ so it wasn't worth the hassle trying to talk further with his supposed "limited English and understanding".  15 minutes later the Owner knocks on door with our bill asking for signature.  He didn't remove the $, because they "gave us the best room".  Still not worth a hassle I sign and keep our copy as proof. 7:30am as I was in bed waking up, the door unlocks only stopped opening by the chain AND peeping in is the OWNER! He saw me awake & shut the door.  My husband & I decide to get out of there!  As we packed our car right outside our doorway I tell Owner "our door was opened" His reply was " he'd check into it". EXTREMELY CREEPY!! I began watching my credit card, I do not trust the integrity of this owner & wife, so I have cancelled my card from bogus charges. Obviously "GOOD" reviews are staged.   Our "clean" room left our socks BLACK on the bottom.

This property should absolutey not be featured on Expedia. I saw that it had 3.9 stars.. very innacurate. Its in a HORRIBLE neighborhood. The property looks both like it was hit by a hurricane and had bed bugs at one time. Paint is chipped off the walls. The bathroom had mold EVERYWHERE. The microwave didnt work and people were literally living in this hotel. The person didnt speak english hardly at all. His machine wasnt working to run my card forever. This is the worst stay in Yoakum PERIOD

"You can't judge a book by its cover" is definitely true of this motel. The exterior is alittle rough around the edges but the rooms are extremely clean !!!! The bed was exceptionally comfortable and the surroundings were quiet.

We got there and the sheets on the bed looked like they had dirt all over them. They were nice about it tho and gave us new sheets. The sink wasn’t clean and the shower head looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months. The shower curtain was dirty at the bottom.

Just don't do it.
First, I'm not usually one to leave a bad review because everyone needs to make a living. However, I booked this because it had an 8.0 review. I have never been this disappointed with a stay. The hotel had rotten siding. Which is not in our room but, it does show a lack of responsibly. There was even a rotten beam broken in half that was supporting the 2nd story. ENOUGH ABOUT THAT, the room was fairly nice if it didn't have a slimy coating in everything. The toilet had been left where someone had used it and did not flush it, it also had hair on the seat (not head head hair either). There were only 2 towels and 4 of us. The freezer was frozen up. There were only 2 pillows on each bed. Rust on the furniture. But, my DEAL BREAKER was THE ROACHES. Now I have to leave my bags outside for a week to give them time to vacate my bags. I will NEVER stay there again! The only good thing was the night staff was friendly and accommodating to our late check in without attitude and the shower had hot water. I hate to write a bad review but, I could even walk around in the room without shoes on and then I had a 10 yr old and a 5 yr old with me to have to keep clean to boot. Hope this helps someone, the hotel to clean the facility or others looking for a room. God bless!

This place is in need of some TLC on the outside, however, the inside is immaculate. The furniture and appliances are new and everything is well kept. My wife books my hotels and had called ahead to request my A/C be turned on ahead of my arrival. My room was clean and cold, and staff was friendly and helpful. Will stay again.

We only stayed one night, but room was very nice, & clean. Bed was comfortable and quiet. My husband & I was there for a wedding in Shiner. We had lunch & breakfast in Mimi's Restaurant, in the hotel, and food was good too.

Okay stay
The outside of the place is rundown. When you get there you think you might be at the wrong place or in a nightmare. Once you go inside your room it is nice. Not super nice but okay for one night. Somebody knocked on our door at around 2am and woke us up. The area is a bit effy.

Excellent hotel stay on my visit to Spoetzl Brewer
Upon arrival I was skeptical about staying here due to the exterior appearance. The night person on duty which I believe is the owner was very courteous. Once I opened my door thinking it would be old and outdated due to the exterior appearance I was delighted and amazed on the interior appearance. Although the tub was old and refurbished everything else is brand new and and very clean. The picture on the website are accurate and true. Very spacious rooms, very clean and no odors. This place was recently renovated. You also receive a delicious free breakfast. From the time you arrive until you leave the owner is extremely courteous! I highly recommend this place if you are in the area, especially if you are visiting the Spoetzl Brewery, only 9 miles from Shiner, Texas.

Wonderful Stay!
From the moment we checked in we felt right at home. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the family who owns and operates the property is super friendly. Our pets were welcomed with no hassle, which after dealing with "pet friendly" hotels that are less than thrilled to follow through with this claim across the country all week, was a huge plus for us. A complimentary hot breakfast is served in the attached restaurant that is nearly worth the stay in itself. I really can't speak highly enough of this place!

Nice hotel but...
Its comfortable and somewhat clean , at my stay a handle towels were dirty (!!!) but the rest of room was good , at night in first floor the noise over the parking lot and the superior floor its a little bit bother ... but any way for the price its good and thanks for everything !!!!
