"They say to never judge a book by its cover and this also holds true for some hotels. Dean Court looked nothing if not stately in the pics and our expectations were high as we arrived in York. The good news, the location is great - close to the most wonderful shopping. Valet parking was also a treat. That said, the hotel itself feels like a lower-end motel masking inside a wonderful exterior. The first room we were shown had no windows and there are, apparantly, four of those rooms. We were moved to a room with great windows, although the only rooms with AC are the interior no-window rooms. Most of the staff were pleasant except for the lady at the front desk who never lifted her head on a few occassions we passed by. The breakfast is so, so, but with attentive servers. Great location. Great exterior. Not a great choice for us. "
