"The staff at this hotel are simply excellent. If they said something would be done or prepared, it was. Breakfast is seriously good with sufficient staff unobtrusively on hand to assist with any questions or help needed. Our bedroom, bed linen and bathroom were very clean. A hotel stay like hotel stays used to be. We will definitely return. "

"Our room overlooked the River Ouse and was ideal! The views were stunning and York Minster looked majestic in the sunlight. The room was clean and tidy. The bathroom was equally clean and tidy. Staff on reception were warm, friendly, welcoming and helpful. Parking was undercover, safe and secure which was reassuring. Our only issue with parking was venturing out to Harrogate and Knaresborough for the day and not finding a parking space available in the hotel on our return! So we used Marygate car park overnight which was a delightful walk along the riverside to the next bridge. "

"Lovely stay, reasonably priced. The breakfast was the only let down really, but it was complimentary. I'd rather pay and have some mushrooms and black pudding, and nice eggs! The waffle maker was good though."

"What a place. Great from start to finish. Check in was a breeze was bags being taken to swift check in and shown to the room. Room was lovely and was very spacious and even included a big deep bath. Drinks in the bar were great and morning breakfast was delicious and I loved the a al carte option. Spa is not to be missed, so relaxing and well worth the money"
