Spacious home with beautiful views of Lake Tahoe. Large equipped kitchen. Perfect for my family of 7. The pool was large and my two grandchildren had a blast playing in it. Great decks to hang out on. Great location.

House is Great; Management Co communication very lacking

This house was wonderful for our extended family vacation. It was even great with a 1 year old! Every home has its quirks as does this one but nothing that made the stay an issue. Pool was wonderful and the location is fantastic especially with the private community beach. We love this neighborhood and were so happy to find this house. We had one member who is on oxygen and the layout of this house worked perfectly. Upstairs and downstairs O2 units made it possible to enjoy all the fun no matter which level. The listing could use some rework as there were amenities we were told did not exist but we discovered upon arrival they actually did. There are beach chairs, umbrella, beach towels, toiletries in each bathroom and lots of staples in the kitchen as well. Unfortunately Grand Welcome management company could use a few lessons on communication and customer service. The ice maker in the refrigerator apparently broke before we arrived but we were not informed until we discovered no ice. When contacted they initially were responsive saying they would provide ice within about an hour. Nearly 3 hours later we received the smallest bag of ice for purchase and we were a party of 7 adults. When asked what their contingency plan was for the lack of ice we were told we will have to purchase it. They did send 4 small ice trays which took 10 hours to fully freeze at a -4 degree setting. When contacted again there was never any respond from the Local Team. Main office was no help.

Expected more for the money

The property was spacious and generally clean on the inside. The neighborhood was lovely. However, the outside of the home was messy and junk and other items appear to be stored on it (see photos). Pine needles were everywhere. I understand they fall from the trees, but there were so many even on our first day, that it was obvious no one attended to this. A quick sweep of the deck would have made a difference. There appeared to be deferred maintenance in various areas of the house. The fridge struggled to cool things and the ice maker worked only intermittently. The stove top burners required a hand-held lighter to ignite. Importantly, there were no window treatments in all 3 of the lake-facing bedrooms. This was a problem because there was a deck beyond those windows, so one lacked privacy in changing in a bedroom. We had to go into the bathroom to change. And the morning light streamed in those windows, making sleeping in, which some like to do on vacation, impossible. I personally had to sleep with a towel on my face to get extra shut eye. And no beach towels were provided in the home. I expected more from a home situated in such an upscale neighborhood and for the rental fees paid. Host communication was also not great. We asked for an 11:00 am check out the night before, as was indicated we would be allowed in the welcome binder. We did not get a reply. Instead, someone showed up to hurry us out around 10:30 am, which was abrupt and created a tremendous sense of urgency.

Family Vacation in Tahoe

We wanted a property that was plenty spacious and with things to entertain our two small kids. We loved the deck and spent a lot of time for meals and playing games out there! The rooms were plenty spacious and comfortable. The pool was great for our family that visited and we spent a lot of time in there and our kids loved it! The only downside was that the top step of the ladder in the pool was broken which made it hard for my littles to get out of the pool and the deck could probably use replaced as there were several nails throughout slightly sticking up so if you got out of the pool or hot tub without shoes it didn’t feel too hot.The location was great as we walked to the lake and private beach every day, which was about a half mile walk. And we drove into town daily which was only about a 15-20 minute drive to Heavenly and many restaurants. Overall, the house and neighborhood were very nice and we are already hoping to plan another visit soon!

We very much enjoyed our stay. The neighborhood was beautiful with an easy walk to the beach. 10 minute drive to downtown. We stayed at the home for many of our meals, the kitchen was a definite plus. The home is a family home that has been lived in. For our group it did not detract from our stay and we were there a week.
