Here are some specific reasons this hotel is excellent: short walk to Underground station. Even shorter walk to bus stops. Next door to enormous grocery store. Amazingly huge free breakfast, and a truly incredible number of helpful staff, working hard, very attentive. Superb gym facilities. For my future London trips I'm not going to bother looking anywhere else: this is where I'm staying. My only complaint is that the kitchen appliances and the AC/heating controls are difficult to interpret and the instructions are not clear enough. But overall I rate this place 9.75 out of 10.

The hotel requires quest to use their room key to access the elevator. Guest and staff I thought were the only ones to have such a key but was surprised one night when a knock at my door was a waiter from the restaurant across the street with my daughters take out order. Every hotel we've ever stayed at the reception would call and tell us the food was down stairs with them, but after questioning the reception staff I discovered they gave a guest elevator card to the restaurant across the street so the staff could bring the order to our room. This was true with everyone's order from this restaurant. This might sound like a good idea to the hotel staff because they would not have to be bothered with calling the room or delivering the food themselves, but it's not a good idea for the guest. Marriott hotels do background checks on all their employees so the guest might feel staff staying with them, but Marriott does not do background checks on non-employees, such as the waiter across the street. When I questioned the reception staff about this they seemed to have no problem with this policy of giving out guest elevator keys to non employees. In this case it was the restaurant did so much business with the guest at their hotel they felt it was more convenient to let an outsider, non employee, have access to their guest room levels. I trusted Marriott to use the best, safest practices when dealing with their guest's safety. Letting someone who is a nonemployee have a key

The kitchen area room was very worn out. Especially the couch. Couch somewhat gross. This was our 2nd stay and the first time the couch wasn’t like that but it was a 1 bed with fold out couch where this was a 2 bedroom with regular couch. So I guess bigger isn’t necessary better.

We stayed here for 6 nights and were mostly pleased with every aspect of the place except that one of the two lifts were broken for the entire time of our stay. This made going up to the 6th floor very slow especially at check out and check in times when baggage is being transported via elevator/lift.

The stay was lovely. Appreciated the upgrade to the two bedroom suite The staff were great, especially Theo who was so friendly and helpful. One thing that I would like to see is a bit of variety in the breakfast. I know the kitchen was very limited so understand the difficulty. All in all we had happy memories of the hotel
