The location is awesome since there is a direct view of Matthorn peak from patio. The view also comes with challenges since it is high on a slope. But the hotel owner is very kind to offer both free pick up and free sending in taxi service to the train station, which we really appreciate! The breakfast is very nice too. We enjoyed the stay very much!

The hotel is beautiful, with amazing views of the Matterhorn. Breakfast was delicious and staff were super nice and helpful. The hotel is up on the mountain so be prepared to hike in and out. Great experience!

Our stay was exceptional, staff was amazing even made us sandwiches when we heading out early to go climb the Breithorn. And the view from the room was second to none and I mean like jaw dropping stunning bring binoculars and you won’t even leave the room 😂😂

Allen lodge was a little piece of heaven with their stunning Matterhornn views, beautiful furnishings, comfortable rooms, and wonderful, kind staff. We particularly enjoyed the complimentary breakfast and taxi service to and from the train station (available if you stay 2 nights or more). My only gripe is that the WiFi wasn’t very reliable, but cellular service was great so it wasn’t a big problem for us. Would definitely stay again!

Incredible views, beautiful property (especially the furniture), great breakfast, good location not far from the center of town. Really nice staff and the rooms were spacious and modern bht really charming and cool. One of the nicest hotels I’ve ever stayed at. Would definitely go back.

Check your email and spam folder for an email before you arrive-the hotel will provide free transportation from the train station. Breakfast was delicious, and the room had a view of the Matterhorn as advertised. The only negative is that the downtown shopping area is a 16-17 minute hike from the hotel, and we like to walk. But I would stay here again without question.

Weekend receptionist Ms. Eli was a great young girl. She helped us by going out of her way to make us very comfortable. I loved the balcony we had attached to our room. It was about 12 to 15 feet long, with 2 chairs & small table to put snacks and drinks on. The room was very clean. Remember, in Zermatt, everything closes very early (about 6:30 PM). At night, at 8 PM, you will not find anybody on the road for directions or any other issue. The area was very safe & quiet. Enjoyed it the BEST.

Fantastic property. What a treat to be waking up to the view of Matterhorn outside your window. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious, down to specialty coffee, and we even got advice on the hikes we were considering:) We loved our stay at Alpenlodge!

An absolutely amazing stay! The property is well-maintained and has a wonderful "Swiss vibe" that our kids loved. It’s located just outside the town center—perfect if you don't mind a brief walk or taxi ride. Everyone on the staff was friendly and helpful, and the rooms were meticulously cleaned every single day. We would stay there again!

Wonderful place and will be back. Would not change a thing BUT (and this is only if you are major coffee drinker like me) - they need to have a normal European style maker in each room or one downstairs that guests can use 24/7. Don’t waste time with that instant freeze dried packet stuff and hot water.
