Friendly and helpful staff. Great location and view of the Matthorn. The tunnel and elevator were great for getting to and from the main part of town. Beds were comfortable but could use better pillows.

We had two good rooms for exploring Zermatt. One had a great view of the Matterhorn from the balcony while the other had a construction crane dead center. We enjoyed the breakfast, pool and other facilities. We also appreciated the neighboring elevator that got us up and down into Zermatt. The staff gave us a ride to the bahnhof when we checked out and I assume they would have picked us up if we had called.

SImply a great place. Had everything but not over the top expensive. Lovely pool. FREE BREAKFAST! Amazing views. Super support. Elevator down to the town's street level. Great nearby hikes. Rooms sparkling. Breakfast had anything you could want. We heartily recommend to everyone.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Alpenroyal. Our room had a beautiful view of the Matterhorn, which made our stay in Zermatt very special. We could enjoy the Matterhorn view right from our room and balcony. The hotel has a very convenient tunnel that made it easy for us to walk to the shopping area and the train stations, including the Gornergrat station. This made getting around Zermatt very easy for us. I also really enjoyed breakfast and the personal service. During our stay, they reserved the same table for me in the dining room and placed a little sign with my name on it. It was a small detail, but it made me feel very welcome and special. We enjoyed the traditional Swiss atmosphere, the beautiful mountain view, the helpful service, and the convenient location. We had a very memorable stay and would happily stay here again.

The property was well located and it’s got all the nice things you can think of in terms of amenities. Some things stood out… 1. They will pick up from and drop off at the Zermatt station which was great, because we had large luggage bags. 2. When we checked in they gave us a room which had an amazing view from the gallary and we could see Matterhorn. 3. There’s an elevator you can take to go down and come up that saves the hassle to climb up to the hotel all the time. This was a big deal.

Everything was clean. The place is a bit outdated and the beds weren’t very comfortable. The breakfast left some to be desired. If you’re wanting to spend your time in town, you’re better off staying at a place closer. The sell was the view but for the price of the hotel, it wasn’t worth it. Especially when you can take the cogwheel up to the top of the mountain.
