Riviera Maya All inclusive Holidays

Need more activities for ages 11-16. The pool had 2 floating poop from large animal. Cleaning from main pool area needs more work.

The hotel was amazing, and the staff was the BEST. Thank you for our wonderful stay and we will be sure to come back.

I had a superb winter avoidance break at Bahia Principe. The pre booked transfer with Amstar worked perfectly both ways - just over an hour from Cancun. I opted for the shared transport but was the only passenger on both trips! Really good and competent drivers - if you’re unfamiliar with the locality this is a much better option than renting a car for yourself! The room was fabulous, stocked minibar replenished daily, comfortable bed, clean and spacious shower room, small balcony to relax on and really efficient air con for the hot days. The joy of the resort is the ability to jump into an electric shuttle bus and use any of the five connected resorts, each of which has its own vibe, architecture and restaurants. Food in the buffet restaurants was the best I have ever experienced at an all inclusive resort. Huge range of options, everything was freshly made, well presented and tasted great. The staff in the restaurants and bars were very hard working yet universally cheerful, polite and helpful. Live evening entertainment in every resort was, er, entertaining! Mariachi (of course), rock band, ABBA tribute act, all really good stuff to get into the holiday spirit! A couple of acts made me wonder if it was karaoke night (it wasn’t) but that’s pretty much what you expect. I was recovering from knee replacement surgery so I didn’t try any excursions. But I’m definitely coming back again when I can! Book speciality restaurants before you arrive. They are great but busy.

This is an ok option if you are not expecting a luxury style resort. The rooms are really outdated even if selecting an upgraded room (we had a swim out). The staff were ok, no above and beyond service except 2 of the bartenders Fernando and another guy at the back bar. There isn’t much to do, only the buffet restaurant is open daily, others are every other day and at 6pm. The swim up bar was fun, the beach you cannot access there were mountains of seaweed in front of the 10 lounge chairs that were out there. No one comes to you to offer/refill drinks, you have to go to the bar each time. The room service are concession stand style hotdogs, hamburgers, and nachos. The other food was average not much flavor. Lots of wildlife, iguanas were cool, bold raccoons one came in our room, a few deer which were calm and cute, and a black cat. Again if looking for somewhere cost efficient and not looking for full service, average accommodations, and plan to spend most time on excursions then this isn’t a bad option just wasn’t what we were expecting for an all inclusive adults luxury resort. Comparable to a Best Western to give an idea. Hope this helps, enjoy your trip.

The resort is quite nice, despite the excess seaweed. However the all inclusive food options are of a very poor quality. In fact the Mexican street food from outside is 100 times better. The restaurants have low seating numbers, hence impossible to get any reservations without escalating to guest services. Not a hotel I would revisit!
