I was already aware of the beach conditions before booking, so I did not have high expectations. However, the reality was far worse than I had anticipated. The smell of rotting seaweed was overwhelming, and it was difficult to spend any amount of time near the beach because of the odor. In the end, getting into the water was out of the question.
I was also disappointed that it was not easy to visit the restaurants I wanted, and the overall area surrounding the hotel was not very appealing. In addition, the benefits that were advertised through Expedia turned out to be essentially unusable during my stay.
Since there was not much to do at the resort, I looked into booking a spa treatment, but the prices were significantly higher than those at comparable hotels. I usually stay in Cancun's Hotel Zone and decided to try something different this time. Unfortunately, this experience only reminded me why so many visitors prefer the Hotel Zone. Overall, the stay was very disappointing, and I would not consider returning.
