“We had a lovely stay at the Maldron Hotel Portlaoise during our trip to Ireland. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and conveniently located, making it a great base for visiting family and exploring the surrounding area. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. Our room was comfortable and well maintained, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel was relaxed and inviting. “Stayed 2 nights had 2 rooms books my wife and I and my daughter and her boyfriend when to rooms one over res bar music till 3 and the rolling barrels at 5.45 at side window daughter rooms same are but her from had 3 van all blown hot air boyfriend up getting sick with heart so moved us from there to quiter area but still outdated showers sprays every where ay ones needs paint daily wash/ cobweb clean and some updating people very nice and easy to talk to and helpfull but just not……

“A wonderful peaceful 3-day stop staying in the superior lodge room. The room itself comprised a spacious living area and a similarly large bedroom set a short walk from the castle itself. All of the staff were exceptionally friendly, attentive, and helpful. Breakfast was superb with a great selection of high quality options. Highly recommended for anyone looking to stay in the area.”

“Really nice hotel in a peaceful setting. Plenty of free parking. Staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming both at reception and the bar. Kids even got a free branded rubber duckie each in the room! Had breakfast which was really good. Would definately recommend staying here.”

“The character of the castle is excellent. Christian toured me around the proper and is a superb concierge. The room itself is lacking. It smells strongly of mildew. Carpeting is worn. Amenities like coffee and cookies need an update. The food at dinner was overly salted and the service declined during the dinner - strong start and a weak finish.”

“There is no air conditioning but ceiling fan only, it will be hot during summer months like July and August. The staff in general are very helpful and sincere. The breakfast quality is good. ”
