We learned here - about history, about time, and about space. It was a 'grounding' experience for us. We feel at home in the American Southwest, yet didn't understand the complex history of this region. Thanks to John at the Bosshard's Gallery, we learned much. Additionally, we are river rats, historical curious-ors, and hiking/backpacking devotees, so we were able to 'scout' a future Chama river trip (because of damn upgrades, it will be a few years in the future), learn about native slavery in the region, and hike a 15 mile in-and -on the Los Ojitos trail... that could be expanded to further adventures should the need present itself. Northern New Mexico adventures are a MUST. We had planned to read and write and rest... yet were pulled into the resonance of the magnaminity of this place, and just were. And were grateful.
