「Lovely stay! Helpful and friendly staff. Great pool and cafe area. Right on the beautiful sandy beach and beside lots of tavernas and shops. Not noisy. Rooms are a little basic but the AC and the balcony in the 2 bed apartment were great. If there was a way to lock the balcony doors in the kids bedroom that would have put my anxious mind at ease. All in all brilliant stay. Would return.」

「The one bed suite was very spacious and comfortable. Plenty of sun loungers and tables outside including own chairs directly outside room. Really friendly and welcoming staff. Short walk via hill into town. Ideal place for exploring hiking trails and Platanias. No shop or restaurant on site but plenty in local area so not an issue. Pool a decent size and well maintained. Great view.」

Das Hotel Abella ist ein wahres Paradies auf Erden. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt in vollen Zügen genossen und kommen sehr gerne wieder. Absolut empfehlenswert!」

「Rooms are very small and there’s a lot of steps to navigate so if you don’t like stairs I would not recommend it. Property is clean and staff is very helpful.」

「The hotel had a 80s decor and vibe, but the not-so-modern outlook is totally, if not over compensated, by the impeccable service, cleanliness, view at the breakfast restaurant, quality of food, and the ample size of the swimming pools which provide more than enough room for everybody to enjoy. We have had an amazing time there! I paid extra for a side sea view room because the picture looks like a frontal sea view, but it wasn’t, and I probably would not have chosen the same room type next time....

「Good air conditioning, well situated (out of expensive Chania but not too far). And right next to a beautiful and quiet beach! (3 min walk approx.) The owners were always available to help us get the most out of our stay in Crete.」

「Great location and beach area with bar. Modern spacious rooms. Hot water was at a premium but we noticed new tanks delivered during our stay so that will be handled soon. Overall a good experience that I would repeat !」

「Impeccably clean room next to the beach with plenty of amenities and a well kept garden. Small crowded pool unfortunately shared with other properties. Excellent restaurants nearby as is a supermarket with large selections of drinks. Good value for a room, albeit it is small, in the better part of Platanias. Also close to bus stop for visits to Chania. Two rows of sun beds managed by this property on the beach at 10euros per day which can add up to a hefty bill! Also beware tourist taxes at end...

「For et godt valg, tenkte vi da vi kom, og det sier det meste. God beliggenhet ift. sentrum og stranda. Stille og rolig på kvelden/natta ( vi bodde nærmest stranda). Strålende rengjøring med ofte bytte av håndklær og sengetøy. Stor og familiær vennlighet fra ansatte. Store rom med alt du trenger - kjøkkenkrok med kjøleskap med en liten fryser, (kaffemaskin med kapsler som blir påfyll hver dag), vannkoker osv. God størrelse på terrassen. Strandrestauranten hadde veldig god mat. Vi kommer gjerne...

「Beau studio bien situé, avec belle piscine creusée, à distance de marche de la plage , bus en face pour se rendre à Chania, excursions possibles à partir de l’hôtel. Personnel très sympathique. Seul tout petit bémol : cuisinette petite, manque un égouttoir à vaisselle et avons dû demander linges à vaisselle. Nous y reviendrons si nous revenons en Crète !」

「Booked 1 room with another family with 9 of us at the property. We had also rented cars and drove to the hotel. Great access for free parking. The room was split over 2 levels that the boys enjoyed. The room was very clean. The breakfast selection was significant to choose from and the Italian restaurant was really great. The hotel gave direct access to the beach and great spot for sunset pictures!」
