The hotel looked shady from the get go. The toilet had to be fixed when we got there and couldn’t change rooms he is e”there wasn’t another room available”. Found a couple bed bugs on the sheets and the cover on the other bed looked as if it had dry blood on it. Also it’s not the Hotel Aiken that you’re staying at, but the Holley House. May want to change that on your site. Overall an unpleasant experience to say the least.
The lobby/check in is a hotel room someone is living in. The sheets smelled of urine. Bathtub was dirty which was fine because there was no hot water. The location was fantastic. We walked all over Aiken with all of its great shops and restaurants.
Main hotel is currently closed and fenced-off, pending a large refurbishment. What you have left is quite a run-down motel whose rooms are looking very tired.
I didn’t even get out of my car to check in. It looked like a run-down work/release facility with a lot of men loitering outside.
I was very disappointed that this property was listed on orbitz.
The original hotel I booked my stay at I was told had closed when I arrived and what was there was a really run down motel. It looked like something from a horror movie. They had a piece of paper on the front door of the shut down hotel saying to “check in in room 107” I got to the room on the side of the building and the door was locked . I girl opened it and her and a small child were in the room and checked me in. I took one look at my room and immediately checked out! No one bothered to ever email or contact me that the original hotel shown in the picture when I booked had closed, the check in girl said the hotel had closed at the end of last year. I was in the area for a sporting event and luckily was able to get another hotel near by but that was a horrible place with horrible accommodations.. do NOT go there. They now show the actual “motel” on the website. It reminded me of the Bates Motel. And I paid $160 for 1 night stay, of which I am just out the money. I booked my trip way in advance due to rooms being next to impossible to get in the area for the event I attended. I understand my reservation had been made in advance but to completely shut down and move into a extremely run down 10 room motel and not find it necessary to contact your expected guests to me is really bad. Please do not spend your money on this place!
Not sure if we received this bad room because we reserved through “HOTELS” or not, but it was feezing in the room and we could not shower because bathtub did not drain. Water took 5+ minutes to get hot when running faucets. On the positive side, sheets were clean, but no blankets - only top sheet and “bedspread”. Office lady was very nice and accommodating with towels. Right in middle of town and close to nice restaurants. We left ASAP - no showers.

Nice but unprofessional people. LIke a family-run gas station. No ID asked for on check-in, no Do Not Disturb sign in the room.
The shower did not work so I had to use the ice bucket to dump water over my head to wash my hair. I hope they have the renovations completed before my next visit to Aiken.
I did not like anytging. I was very disapointed. I was scared at night people in and out All hours of the night. I was not exoecting to stay in a Motel. Again. Very very disappointed. I would never recommand the Hotel Aiken. Shoukd be Motel. Aiken

Loud. Just Ok.
Noisy neighbors-I think they were living there, not just visiting. No regard for other people who may be sleeping. Loud thumping at 3am; turning on and reving up loud truck engine for no reason, then turning off a few mins later. AC didn't have a setting to keep the fan constantly blowing, so it was hard to drown out loud conversations of people standing outside my ground level room. Hotel was under construction, so lobby and parts of the building were closed, but the room was decent. Check-in staff was nice, welcoming and helpful.

The main hotel is under major renovation,so our rooms were in the “courtyard” building next door (which we knew would be the case.) Clean, but a little worn, and a couple of bugs. One room didn’t have a door between the sleeping area and bathroom, just a curtain. Renovation noises next door commenced about 5 am. But you can’t beat the location in terms of proximity to restaurants and the Trinity Home, and the price was fair.

A bargain but for a reason
OK, I didn't pay much, but I guess because of the renovations being done on main building, they have had to cut back on things like TV channels, sheets and towels and breakfast. Luckily it was quiet.
Hotel Aiken should be closed until further notice. I understand it has been purchased and is under renovation. Until this is complete, I would advise looking for another hotel. They are taking reservations for Hotel Aiken and upon arrival, redirecting to a small, dirty, cheap motel. The receptionist was rude, could care less that she had guests still willing to stay. In my case, there was nowhere else to go for the night so I decided I'd get through it. Biggest mistake in recent memory. The room was crappy. The toilet ran all night. The bar nearby stayed open till 3 am making lots of noise. Car horns blowing, no water pressure and old rooms. I'd been better off sleeping in the car. It will be about 18-24 months before Hotel Aiken reopens. Until then, I will stay elsewhere and would advise you do the same!

Not that good.
Since Marriot bougt it seems they closed the main building for renovation. So only rooms available in side bldg next door. It was ok clean comfortable but definitely not worth $210.00 per night. There were other places in Aiken as mice for half price. Had i known anout the reno i wud have stayed elsewhere.
