Beautiful spacious villa with fantastic views and private pool

Situated in an idyllic location, The Retreat is a luxury, 5 bedroomed villa set in its own olive grove, overlooking the stunning La Maroma mountain. Only 45 minutes from Costa del Sol's Malaga Airport and an hour from Granada airport. The villa has been furnished to the highest of standards and incorporates every modern convenience yet retains a typical Spanish style. Large private pool and terrace area provide the ideal location to relax. Tavernas and small local shops are nearby together with a myriad of tiny mountain villages to explore. 20 Minutes drive takes you to the Coast, a major shopping complex and all the entertainment facilities of the seaside resort of Torre del Mar. Further afield, Granada, Seville, Cordoba and Gibraltar are all within travelling distance. So, for location, The Retreat is simply perfect - nestling quietly in the mountains, with small shops and restaurants nearby, yet only 25 minutes from the bustle of the coastal resorts.


Activities/Sports/Shopping: Beaches] - There are a number of excellent beaches within easy reach. The nearest beach is at Torre Del Mar - a long wide beach with activities and facilities. There are a number of excellent beaches at Nerja including a naturist beach. [Waterparks/Themeparks] There is a water park 20 minutes away at Torre Del Mar and there are further waterparks and themeparks near Malaga. [Watersports] - Sailing, Jet skiing, Water skiing & Windsurfing are all available at many nearby places. [Shopping] - There is a large shopping centre at Torre del Mar and the town has many good shops. There are also many excellent smaller shops at Nerja. [Walking] - Easy or challenging, spectacular scenery. [Horse Riding, Fishing] - Available nearby. [Skiing & Snowboarding!] - About 1.5 hours away, near Granada is the major ski resort of Sierra Nevada. [Bowling and Cinema] - 20 minutes away in Torre del Mar.


Places to Visit: [Traditional Spanish Pueblos] - Many traditional 'white' villages all around. Each has its own character and has remained unchanged for hundreds of years - look out the fiestas (village parties) during the summer. [Alhambra at Granada] - This magnificent sight is definitely worth a visit. [Nerja Caves] - Spectacular cave complex, the best in Spain, includes concert hall. [Alpujarrás] - The setting for the popular book 'Driving over Lemons'. [Sierra Nevada] - Magnificent mountain range including ski resort. [Ronda and Seville] - quite a drive away but worth a visit. Ronda famous for its gorge and the home of Spanish bullfighting. Seville with its Moorish heritage and spectacular architecture - see the Giralda, one of the most famous buildings in Spain. Christopher Columbus sailed from here to discover America. [Gibraltar] - Quite a drive but worth a visit. See the Barbary apes, Africa and the famous gate to the Mediterranean. [Bird watching] Several local sites


Golf: There are two excellent golf courses nearby. [Baviera Golf] approximately 20 minutes away between Torre Del Mar & Velez Malaga. The 5,910 metres course is a Par 72 and is not as crowded as many courses found on the Costa Del Sol. [Club Anoreta] approximately 25 minutes away on the outskirts of Rincon de la Victoria. 5,976 metres long and a Par 72

La casa, la piscina, el entorno, la ubicacion, todo muy bien. Sinenvargo la limpieza brillaba por su ausencia, faltaban almohadas y ropa de cama y el menaje de cocina muy limitado

Beautiful house

A beautiful house, in a stunning location. Definitely need a car. The house accommodated 11 people well, with plenty of space. The pool was fantastic, but deep. Alan and his wife next door were very friendly and accommodating. Great communication with owner prior to arrival.

Fabulous scenery

The house is situated in a glorious location. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house fitted 8 of us really well. We mixed dining at home using the bbq and the oven for pizza etc as It was easy to get to local shops by car and the occasional trip to EROSKI supermarket fitted in with a visit to the Water Park etc. The pool was a great size and everyone was able to enjoy it. There was plenty of crockery, cutlery, glasses etc. Extending full air conditioning to all bedrooms would be an advantage as the mobile units didn’t really cope with August temperatures. Neighbour Alan was most helpful and kept the pool in good order. We would recommend, provided people know you can’t walk to any restaurants as the only one previously mentioned was closed throughout our visit.

Excellent villa for families

This villa was in a beautiful location in the mountains. We stayed as a family of 7 and it was very spacious and clean throughout. The neighbour Alan was extremely helpful and made our experience much more enjoyable. A thing to note is that a car is needed, although we already knew this. Many thanks to Bev for this great villa, we really felt comfortable staying here for a week 😊

nous avons passé 10 jours en famille dans cette résidence (6 adultes et 4 enfants de 9 à 14 ans). les plus : la taille de la maison et l'espace pour chacun, la climatisation, la piscine, le calme. les points d'amélioration: les ustensiles de cuisine bien qu'il y ait tous les équipements il faudrait qu'il soit un peu plus adaptés à la réalisation de plat pour un groupe de 10 personnes et peut être un peu récents car on a eu du mal à ne pas faire bruler certaines recettes. Nous recherchions le calme de la montagne donc cela ne nous a pas déranger de faire 30 minutes de voiture pour aller à la plage sur une route sinueuse. nous avons apprécié d'avoir Alan pour nous conseiller et entretenir la piscine. en bref un très bon séjour

Very nice views and a great stay!

Great place to stay with amazing views. The best part of the house is the pool, it’s great. The house is very spacious and well organized with a large kitchen. It’s an ideal place to relax some days with friends or family.

A great weekend in a splendid house

Bev and Alan are lovely, helpful and very close host. We surprised a lot when we saw the Bev's huge house. It's warm and very confortable and it has all you need to have some days of relax with frinds or family. We enjoyed so much. It might be we book again in summer if everything goes well. Thank you a lot Bev! :)

no recomendable bajo mi experiencia global. listado de vidicitudes: -persiana eléctrica del salón rota. -otras persianas con nudos en las cuerdas, no subían ni bajaban bien. -camas rotas. -tv con truco para que funcione. -sartenes viejas, paellera oxidada. -luz pobre en salón. -sábanas con manchas amarillas. -calentador de agua insuficiente para 3 baños -error en la leña pagada-entregada. -al grifo de la cocina le faltaba difusor que te moja al abrirlo. -Armario con madera posterior llena de humedad. -Paredes con humedad de haber corrido el agua del tejado. -Techo de habitación con agujeros de haber caído agua. -Faltaban bombillas en ciertas estancias. -Sin una olla para el tamaño del alojo. -Fosa séptica que subía el olor a la vivienda. -Moscas dentro por no haber mosquitera. -Casa poco higiénica, no limpiada correctamente. -las sillas de madera del patio estaban tiradas en el suelo, sucias y mal amontonadas. -El patio estaba sin barrer ni limpiar, con hojas ramas y excrementos de pájaros por todas partes. -el soporte para colgar la alcachofa de la ducha estaba suelto. -Dos huésped sufrieron caídas: una señora mayor al sentarse en la cama esta se hundió y acabó en el suelo porque estaban las maderas sueltas y un señor mayor le pasó igual en una silla que estaba deshecha del patio como todas las que tienen. Con todo esto al día siguiente me manda un cargo elevado para cobrar cosas rotas según ella, ni ella misma conoce el estado de lo que alquila mediante trabajadores porque ya lo estaban rotas antes de llegar. Menos una silla, no distingue romper del uso común y rotura, del mal uso. Que se ve en el tipo de rotura.

Estupenda casa para desconectar unos días

La casa está muy bien y no le falta detalle. La cocina muy completa, incluso tiene lavavajillas. Las fotos no le hacen justicia, está mejor de lo que creíamos. El acceso es fácil y tienes de todo a 5 minutos en coche. Beverly y Alan son un encanto y nos ayudaron con todo. Muy recomendable.

Encantadora casa rural en Alcaucin

La casa rural es perfecta para pasar unos días con amigos o familia. Es suficientemente grande para alojar cómodamente a 12-14 personas, y está muy bien equipada. Los exteriores son muy agradables y la piscina fantástica.

Buena casa para vacaciones con amigos

La organización de la casa es muy buena y amplia para un gran grupo de amigos, en nuestro caso fuimos 12 y tuvimos camas suficientes. Respecto a determinados aspectos de la casa si que tuvimos algunos problemas, por un lado la depuradora de la piscina no iba muy bien y al segundo día el agua se quedaba algo sucia, por otro lado el tostador no funcionaba y de manera general la limpieza de la casa no era muy buena, había zonas algo más sucias. A pesar de ello la casa está genial para pasar unos días, hay barbacoa y muchos juegos y zonas para pasar los días de manera muy cómoda :)

Équipements vieillissants, table extérieure, éclairage extérieur, ustensiles de cuisine insuffisants, les lits simples sont de mauvaise qualité, 2 chambres ne sont pas climatisées (rafraîchisseurs d'air insuffisants pour la région). Pour le positif de cette maison, Alan qui fait le lien avec la propriétaire est d'une compétence, réactivité et gentillesse indéniable, c'est un plus pour les vacanciers. La piscine et la terrasse sont parfaites. Le lieu est très reposant avec tous les commerces à proximité. Plage à 25mn et grande surface à 20mn. Nous avons passés un excellent séjour et je recommande cette location. Encore merci Alan. Une superbe rencontre. "God save the Queen"

Fantastic family time

Stayed 2 weeks everything as described, Villa had everything you needed. Location was in the hills with fantastic views. 20 drive mins if you want a beach. There was a large lounge area which was cool in the hot weather, bedrooms were large, plenty of room to pull out beds in twin rooms. Few mins drive from village with shops where you could get everything needed. You do need a car, but we knew this. Hopefully we will return. You are isolated but we had great family time, pool was fantastic. The neighbours Alan and Marilyn were very helpful with local info and with something we left behind. Thanks for everything, and take everything in your stride.

A gorgeous villa with generous size pool

Excellent value, worked out at about £80 per person for a the week. Everything was extremely clean, bedrooms are very large, kitchen new and modern. Very quite and secluded amongst the olive trees with beautiful views of the mountains and Granada gap. Very relaxing holiday was had by all.

Excellent property beautiful location

Beautiful villa lots of room went with 13 people.big pool which the kids and adults loved.situated in a lovely location with amazing views very quite and peaceful for a relaxing holiday.definitely need transport as roads are busy leading to village and quite a trek.village has a local bakery shops and bars Indian resturante which was fantastic,we went twice.there is a local bar if you turn right from the villa about ten min walk we went several times there beautiful views also do meals but we has tapas which were very good.overall I would definitely recommend this property.Steve the pool man was very helpful and even came to meet us as got lost on the way to the villa as I think the directions could be better and a more direct route would be easier.had a fantastic time thank bev x
