Check in was not Hampton quality AT ALL. The front desk agent at check in was as upbeat as a tortoise. Desk manners were sub par at best and she was chewing gum exactly like a cow chews. There was no laundry room on site. The fitness center did not have a workout bench, no towels and no wipes(the wipes dispenser was thrown on the floor in a closet. The room and breakfast were good but I had a bad attitude from the check in.

The room was wet with the stronge smell of mildew. We requested a different room but was told there wasn't one available. Requested a refund and was told to contact manager. Called manager number and same lady at front desk answered and said manager wouldn't be available until Monday. This was myself, my daughter and my 2 young granddaughters. It was a nightmare. We checked out anyway. We are all coughing. Horrible experience. Hampton Inn in Alexander City, Alabama.

AC was not working in the lobby and halls , the keys did not work for the exterior doors, initially they could only give one room key " we are low on room keys " So I found the quality low compared to what I am used to at most Hampton Inns. The staff were trying to do their best it seemed so I think things were outside their control
