A nice stay
This a nice little house in Alferton, it was great for myself, a friend and my large dog. It was well equipped and comfortable. It was a little dated upstairs and there was no photos of details of the bedrooms but they were clean and well catered. My friend who stayed in the back room noted the boiler (which is in that room) is very noisy and kept her up but that wouldn’t bother some people.
The communication with cottages.com was difficult as they kept trying to cancel the booking and not reply to Vrbo messages but this is no reflection on the owners. The owners didn’t contact us to let us know where the keys were or the details of entry but when I found their number in an email, they were so lovely and helpful and really prompt to pick up. Alferton itself is fine, it has some supermarkets and a park at the end of road of the house. It’s just off the M1 and close to Matlock (20 minute drive). I would recommend this place.
