CONTEXT The exclusive Mascarat area is located just 10 minutes from the renowned town of Altea, famous for its colorful historic center and its 187 restaurants. Mascarat is also only 40 minutes from Alicante International Airport, making it easily accessible from anywhere in the world. Within this unparalleled area lies Villa Puerto Beach, a complex of apartments located directly on the beautiful La Barreta beach, just 20 meters from the building, where you can step down in your swimsuit. This beach is truly unique. During the summer, a beach bar offers delicious dishes, drinks, restrooms, freshwater showers, sunbeds, and umbrellas for rent. Although the entrance is pebbly, just five meters into the water, the ground turns to sand, making it easy to see your feet and swim comfortably.
The area is not only surrounded by beautiful mountains but also, and especially, by other stunning and unique beaches with transparent, warm, sandy waters, lifeguards on duty, sunbeds and umbrellas for rent, and beach bars just meters from the water where you can eat or drink during the summer. These dreamy beaches are perfect for swimming in calm, wave-free waters and exploring the vibrant marine ecosystem offered by the Mediterranean Sea. Villa Puerto Beach is a multicultural space, full of nationalities and accents, where everyone you meet has an interesting story to share. The area offers yacht rentals, jet skis, paddleboards, bicycles, yoga, diving, rock climbing, bungee jumping, and much more. On top of that, the area boasts a range of gourmet restaurants, bars with delicious drinks, live music, and DJs, making it a great place to end each day with fun, style, interesting people, and great taste. For convenience, there are kiosks, mini-markets, and affordable takeout options. For larger grocery trips, the fully stocked Masymas supermarket is just 2 minutes by car, 9 minutes by bike, or an 18-minute walk away.
At the heart of this bay lies our apartment, completely soundproofed, sheltered from the wind, facing the sea, and offering truly breathtaking views – from the mountains behind to a gorgeous 200-meter-wide beach. We purchased and fully renovated the apartment at the beginning of 2024. Humbly speaking, we are proud to emphasize the word “renovated” because we did all the work ourselves, with our ideas, hands, tools, and by recycling everything we could find, transforming it into a space with its own identity. It is for this reason, even though it may seem a bit strict, that we prefer not to allow events or parties, pets, or smokers, as (without ill intent) the smoke could linger on the walls, leaving a bad smell for future guests.
THE APARTMENT The property covers 90 square meters and offers two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, an open-plan living-dining area, and a bright, spacious terrace for dining, reading, or sunbathing while permanently hearing the sound of the sea. The entire apartment has air conditioning and central heating. All of this is just a few meters away from two beautiful swimming pools: one for children and one for adults. There is a communal parking area with remote-controlled access.
THE DECORATION The apartment is primarily inspired by a retro aesthetic. It features wooden tennis rackets, vinyl records, vintage advertisement posters, bicycle wheels repurposed as lamps, creative objects, and collectible furniture, all tied to our hobbies and activities at different points in our lives.
THE BEDROOMS The first bedroom offers sea views and is bright and spacious. It includes a new queen-size bed, two bedside tables with reading lamps, spacious wardrobes, air conditioning, central heating, and a collection of vinyl records on the walls. This bedroom also provides sheets, blankets, and towels. The en-suite bathroom is decorated with vintage advertisements and features a shower, toilet, and bidet. Soap, shampoo, and toilet paper are provided during your stay.
The second bedroom includes two new single beds, a spacious wardrobe, a bedside table with a reading lamp, air conditioning, central heating, and a collection of wooden rackets and golf clubs. Sheets, blankets, and towels are provided. The bathroom, located just two meters away, is also decorated with vintage advertisements and features a shower, toilet, and bidet. Soap, shampoo, and toilet paper are included.
THE LIVING-DINING ROOM The dining area features a lovely wooden table for four, a small but cozy two-person sofa, two floor cushions, wireless internet, a sound system with CDs, and a smart TV ready for Netflix. As seen in the photos, the walls are adorned with unique objects, including vinyl records, tennis rackets, and golf clubs.
THE KITCHEN The kitchen is fully equipped and connected to the laundry area. It includes all new appliances: a large refrigerator with a separate freezer, dishwasher, washer-dryer, sinks, cleaning supplies, a robot vacuum, iron and ironing board, toaster, blender, and complete sets of cutlery, glasses, and dishes. The laundry area also has a beach umbrella and two sun loungers.
THE TERRACE The 16-square-meter terrace offers a very comfortable space to relax. It includes two cozy sun loungers (perfect for sunbathing, reading, or enjoying a drink in the evening), a table for four, a table for two, and a cabinet with cushions and a pair of binoculars for enjoying the views. It also has a retractable awning on the left side for extra shade when the sun is strong and is decorated with a collection of vintage vinyl record frames.
THE PARKING The building includes a parking space for apartment users. The remote control will be waiting for you once you enter the apartment. Although parking is not 100% guaranteed during high season, there is a high turnover of vehicles. If no spots are available, there are two free parking lots on either side of the building.
