This is a great value hotel that I stayed at with my family during our drive back to the UK from the south of France. The hotel itself is located at 25 minute walk from the centre of Amboise: we walked in and had a lovely meal and walk around the town, which is very beautiful. We had four bicycles attached to our car and had some concerns about security during our holiday, but the parking at this hotel is very secure so there were no problems leaving our bikes locked to the car. Our room had a great view of the Château, which was a nice surprise. My only criticism is that for breakfast the plates provided are extremely small. It would be nice to have larger plates! I would definitely stay here again.

Room was comfy enough to sleep overnight to get ready for next day. Has everything you need and hot shower was working well with good water pressure. The toilet feels like the one you use in airplane. Otherwise good location and free parking was great :)

You definitely need a car, no facilities nearby

A bit out the way, which was not a problem for us. No shops or restaurants nearby, or even close. No access to the microwave in the lobby, it was off limits. Like all Ibis budget rooms, space is very limited. There are a few hooks on the wall and no space to open a case, without putting it on the bed. It was very quiet. Our room had a good view over the town and the Amboise Royale Chateau.

Booked through Expedia and paid upfront, showed receipt on arrival but staff insisted that we needed to put a credit card on file and they would ‘hold’ the full amount again, which we did. A few days later the full payment came out of the credit card again, spoke to Expedia who said they couldn’t understand the people on reception but would try to look into it - even after sending both sets of receipts. Still haven’t got a refund for the overpayment and not sure I will. As a side note, I wouldn’t stay at this hotel again anyway. We’ve stayed at plenty of Ibis, this is without a doubt the worst. Shower directly in the room with a half glass door separating it from the bedroom, awful damp smell… on the plus side the surrounding area is lovely.

La chambre pas terrible mais je m’en doutais car chambre 3 lits . Petit inconvénient dans les toilettes pas de brosse nettoyage cuvette . Mais le pire C’est le petit petit déjeuner qui ne comportait que des produits sucrés et pas de charcuterie etc L’hôtel est assez loin de la ville pour y aller à pied et en plus grande dénivellation Personnel Ok

La chambre et les communs étaient très propres. Mais la réservation nommait un lit double alors que nous avions 2 lits jumeaux. Et une chambre pour 3 personnes avec une seule chaise ce n'est pas très pratique.
