O hostel em geral fica muito bem localizado, próximo a estação central e rua movimentada com comércios e restaurantes. Contudo, na minha opinião, prática um preço exorbitante para o que oferece. Ficamos em um quarto compartilhado e o valor supera o de cidades muito mais interessantes. Além disso, enfrentamos muito barulho a noite dentro do quarto e hóspedes transando. A limpeza é boa, os chuveiros são razoáveis. Café da manhã bom, mas pelo preço era o mínimo que se esperava. Ah, se prepara para pagar por tudo: toalha por exemplo (por que não incluem logo no valor na reserva?) e uma taxa de turismo surreal. Staffs prestativos e educados. Ponto positivo: bar com preços bons!

Not really enough space in the showers or bathrooms to change, so unless you’re comfy changing in a room with 30 strangers, expect to feel cramped in a bathroom stall. The cupboard next to our double bunk beds would have benefited from either a shelf or a coat hook so you don’t have to pull everything out to get to your bags. Not being able to access the kitchen until midday was a bit annoying, kind of forces you to have their breakfast, which is very good, but it meant we had to leave food in the fridge when we checked out because we couldn’t access the kitchen. Otherwise, the staff were exceptional and friendly, only really had a run in with one creepy guest, the smoking space and the happy room were lovely and created a really zen environment. I just wish there was less hip hop played in the smoking room, not the best playlist to get stoned to.

Out of the two hostels I stayed in Amsterdam, the Flying Pig was so much better of an experience. It was quiet, comfortable, and I felt safe. The front staff was very friendly and I had an easy check-in/check-out experience. Also, my stay reasonably priced for the location. I would definitely bunk here again.

I really liked the location. It's few minutes away from Centraal station. It's close to a lot of attractions in the city. A lot of restaurants and shops around. I had an experience with bed bugs/insects on my second night. The staff responded promptly to my concern. They even helped me moved to a different room and gave me vouchers from breakfast and drinks. They even paid for drying my clothes and ointment. The facility was clean all the time. If you're into making connections to other people, they have social room and bar. Their breakfast is okay- toast, cereals, boiled eggs, juice and coffee. I got mine for free, but wouldn't pay for it and would rather eat out. The bed was okay, and seems clean except for the bed bug experience. I was very cautious every time I lied down though. The torage for personal belongings was a big cage under the bed, and was big enough for my stuff. I wish they had a common room where you can just eat food bought from outside. The staff were very friendly and accomodating. They explained to me their procedures and what was done with the bed bug incidence.

I had a fairly negative experience at The Flying Pig hostel, which sadly was not alleviated by speaking with staff. In my first room, I could see dead bed bugs within the bed frame (stuck there in cobwebs). I brought this up with staff, they went into the room, inspected it, didn't see anything, and had me point out exactly where it was and still didn't see anything; this was quite awkward, as there were many other people in the room. However they did move me to an alternate 8-bed room. In the 8-bed room, I again found dead bed bugs, but this time in the bedsheets. At this point I accepted defeat and simply didn't say anything to the staff. In both of the rooms that I was in, they were dimmly lit (contrary to how the rooms are shown in the images), the area around the matress were disgusting (it looks like the sides/under the matress have not been cleaned in months), and the floor was made of some bizarre fabric-type material which I can't imagine get cleaned very well. At one point on my trip, I had left 500g sealed chocolate bars on my bed (planning to later place them into my suitcase). Hours later I had come back with a notice on my bed saying that the chocolate bars were moved to the kitchen. The chocolate bars were thankfully not stolen, but it was just so ridiculous to have sealed food items taken from my bed by the hostel staff. There were more negative aspects of this hostel, but I've reached the character limit. This hostel is NOT cleanly.

The Hotel was as good as expected. Up to 20 people in one sleeping hall is quite a lot and the beds werent the most comfortable but for the price it was a great experience and there is nothing bad to say. Staff was extremly polite and helpful also when there was an issue

Issue with reservation - Misleading information - Unhelpful Expedia staff First of all, The Flying Pig was a wonderful experience and I quite enjoyed myself and had a comfortable stay. My issue was my experience with Expedia / Misleading information regarding the beds. I am at a lost with Expedia. When the reservation was made, the site listing directly from the Expedia website stated 1 x Double Bunk Bed for 2 guests. When I arrived, reception said it was only one bed for 2 people and didn't include the whole bunk, though the website indicates otherwise; how could I determine the difference? So, my friend had to book a whole other reservation so we could have serperate beds. I contacted Expedia the same day as I made the reservation through them (makes sense right?) I explained the situation and Expedia basically just called the Flying Pig, asked for a refund, they said no, Expedia basically stated that the extent of their effort was done and that it sucks to be me. There was no real recognition of the misleading information on their site, no real customer care or value. All they said is that my experience will help prevent others from going through it. Why do I lose out on over $300.00 as they wouldn't refund the cost of the second guest that didn't get a seperate bed based on their misleading info? I tried to further this inquiry but Expedia merely sent a copy and paste blurb from their e-mail prior and said thanks for choosing them and that they care about us, yadaya.

Overall very good facilities. Clean showers/toilets, shampoo and soap provided, towels available to rent at front desk. Security appears to be very good. Reception area doubles as a bar and can get crowded. Location is after all, very close to Amsterdam Central and the busy downtown area. Highly recommended if you're looking to stay in a great location and party atmosphere. The biggest variable as with any hostel stay is your potential roommates. If your lucky, you'll savor a quiet stay, if not....anything goes.

This process can take as long as until 2 pm and that's our check-in time. This property is a real scam with no minimum European standards for a place to stay. Washrooms and toilets are absolutely disgusting and dirty. Rooms are fully packed with super small and uncomfortable beds. They force customers to accept their single beds as queen size beds. And to mean that they even offer to customers to stay separately instead of giving them reasonable explanations. At the end, your complaint will be ended by their this: 'Here is Amsterdam'

Really friendly hostel everyone is on the right vibe could literally strike up a convo whilst waiting at the bar would highly recommend especially if your on your own or in a small group and looking for people to interact with. Beds were really comfortable the only thing I would say could be improved is if you had 2 plug sockets but that may have just been the room I had.

This place was amazing. Stayed with a friend and it was our first time in Amsterdam. The staff are so so friendly and welcoming. The location is excellent. The facilities are average for a hostel but they get the job done! Would definitely stay here again! <3
