Studio for Couples -Traditional Stone built - Rural location (Kefalas nr Vamos)

The studio is a traditional stone built cottage with bags of character, renovated and equipped to a high standard. The studio is located in an olive grove (in approximately 2 acres of private land), on the outskirts of the village, less than 1km from the village center. Kefalas is a traditional village near Vamos, at the heart of the Apokoronas region of the Chania Perfecture.
The accommodation comprises an open plan lounge / dining / bedroom with an open fire, a kitchen area and a separate shower room / toilet. Outdoor space includes the use of a large covered veranda with a dining table and chairs (at the front of the property) and also a comfortable day bed . There is a further terrace with BBQ under a large walnut tree (behind the house).
Kefalas is a traditional village with all the essential amenities, including 2 supermarkets, kafeneions, tavernas, and a cheese factory about a 10-minute walk away. The bustling village of Vamos is about 6km away.

There are numerous blue flag beaches within easy reach (about 15 - 20 minutes by car). The most spectacular of all (and also our 'local') is Octopus Bay, 6km from the house. Not a beach as such, but more like a spectacular plunge pool in the sea, excellent for snorkelling and similar activities!
Walking trails with spectacular views, historic landmarks and beautiful scenery criss-cross the area.
The studio is a perfect base for couples wishing to explore Western Crete. The Venetian towns of Chania and Rethymno are each about 35 minutes by car. The nearby National Road provides easy access to the wide range of attractions Western Crete has to offer, including Samaria Gorge, Gramvousa, Balos, Elafonisi, Lake Kournas, Aptera, Falasarna. Heraklian (and Knossos) is approximately 2 hours by car. South coast locations such as Sougia, Loutro, Plakias, Damnoni, Agia Galini, and even as far as Matala, can all be reached on a day trip
Closer to base you'll find some delightful, traditional towns (Vamos, Vryses, Kalives, Almyrida, Georgiopoli) and villages, excellent beaches and archeological attractions. There are numerous opportunities for walks directly from the house, and also a short drive away. With our local knowledge, we can provide you with details of off-the-beaten track places to visit, walks and excursions.
