"Absolutely beautiful property. Super comfortable room with great bed and shower. Lovely decor throughout the place with a very tasteful mix of modern and original fittings. Some really thoughtful luxuries: they leave out a scrumptious cake and have a bar with open access to all manner of imbibing options for the evening. Just scribble down what you took. They provide a pick up and drop off service ( Thanks Pinto) to and from dinner ( and presumably other excursions into town) so that you don’t need to drive tipsy. They have a gate that allows you to walk directly to the adjacent Groot winery! Lovely breakfast with eggs, avocado, berries, crossants, etc. Our hosts were wonderful and had tons of helpful tips for our trip. Would definitely stay here again. "

"A very quite relaxing place, breakfast is available but it was not the best (cold), this was a very different place, also a yoga retreat. interesting building and rooms. little areas to sit everywhere. lots of spiral staircases to get to places so not good if you have a bit of a funny knee like i have. 2 lovely dogs on the premises too, very friendly."

"The acid test of any stay is would you go back? For us it’s a definite yes. This property is a large home in Constantia which is split in to a number of units. We had booked a 2 bed unit but our host put us in the main house, a 6 bedroom 4 bathroom unit with direct access to the wonderfully heated pool. I think our host had got a few over booking issues and unfortunately we had to leave a day early but in fairness he arranged for us to stay in a lovely guest house not far away. The main house has everything you could possibly need, good kitchen and the grounds are beautifully manicured. My only real issue is that the pictures on the VRBO site and the website are a confusing. The site should specify which part of the property you are renting and state whether it has access to the pool/hot tub etc.And finally there is Jacko the African grey parrot who shares the main house accommodation- he is very friendly and you find yourself talking to him!All in all a great stay, Thank you Atholmain house"
