"We had a wonderful two-night stay at Hakone Yutowa. The location is excellent, just a few minutes’ walk from the Hakone-Gora station. The hotel offers a calm, pleasant atmosphere with beautiful greenery and trees throughout the grounds. While communication in English was occasionally a challenge, the staff remained incredibly friendly and professional. We thoroughly enjoyed both the public and private onsens. Our room was spacious, spotless, and well-equipped. The complimentary snacks and beverages were also a fantastic perk that added extra value to our stay, along with the restaurant onsite."

"This was our favourite stay for our whole Japan trip. We stayed at 3 other hotels. This place and area is unbeatable and i wish I would’ve booked a second night. I didn’t know that I would want to live this day again. The staff were ridiculously kind and helpful. At the end of our stay, I asked which bus and where I should take to get to Hakone-Yumi to and she literally left her post and started running to help me catch the bus. My son enjoyed free ice cream from the vending machine (which he loved). The band in the lobby before dinner was such a nice touch. The dinner and breakfast were perfect. Honestly, just the perfect relaxing spot for us. Would go back for sure. "

"Pros: -Staff were all very friendly and helpful -The room was very impressive -The view from the rooms and hotel are stunning -Transportation is available at the hotel if needed -beds are very comfortable compared to other places I’ve stayed at in japan Cons: -It’s a bit of a drive if you want to get to any of the towns nearby, but that seclusions from them also has its own charm to it Overall I loved this hotel and it’s been my favorite in Japan so far so I had to give it 5 stars "

"Hotel was set against beautiful mountains with green lush landscape all around. The onsen was a wonderful treat at the beginning and end of each day. Rooms were traditional and clean with very nice bathroom toiletries. The food was amazing and delicious. Service was friendly and attentive. "

"Great place for the price. Step up from a hostel that works well for families and has a really nice Onsen for private use. Breakfast was also really nice! Service was also very friendly and helpful. Downsides are the location and the lack of shower in rooms. "

"I think the hotel was not as good as we expected. We arrived tired -after a wedding in Tokyo - and the check in staff grill you with so many questions “what time for dinner” (but there are limited options so you don’t have much choice), “what time for breakfast tomorrow”, same thing for the following days … they even asked “what time do you want housekeeping tomorrow?”! And then they said they had a spa - I said I’d like a massage and they said they were all booked for our dates! But no one had communicated with me in advance to offer massage services so I could book. Also the dinner both nights repeated “Main Meal 1” (their term) -despite the affectation of being so custom. Finally as we checked out we found someone’s socks in the drawer behind the safe deposit box! "
