Well, I also want to share our experience at the Hyatt Place Austin Downtown. I've never publicly commented on any place or service we've experienced, but this time I can't stay silent. When we arrived at the hotel to check in, the first surprise was that they were going to charge us $59.00 to park our car in the hotel parking lot. Wow. We went to the desk across the hall and checked in; everything seemed fine. We arrived at our assigned room, and the first surprise was that there were two beds in the room. The reservation I had made and paid for was for a king-size bed with a city view. It was our wedding anniversary, and I didn't mind paying extra for these extra amenities. So we went down to the lobby, and I explained what was happening. The response was, "Well, we're full, and we don't have any king-size beds available." My response was, "Well, what are you going to do about it? I reserved and paid for a king-size bed with a city view." Magically, a room with a king-size bed appeared. We were assigned another room with a king-size bed. When we arrived at the room, sure enough, it had a king-size bed; but our view of the city through the window consisted of the walls of the other buildings surrounding the hotel. I called the front desk and explained that our reservation was for a city view, that we had paid extra for this amenity, and that all we could see were the walls of the other buildings.
