Set right in the heart of Bakewell, Haddon Villa is a stylish and substantial detached period home sleeping up to 14 guests, offering a rare combination of space, character, and private off-street parking for up to 4–5 cars — an exceptional feature for such a central location. Family and dog friendly, the property provides a superb base for exploring the Peak District National Park without needing to rely on the car.

Often regarded as the capital of the Peak District, Bakewell is the area’s most vibrant and well-connected town. It offers an unrivalled mix of countryside access, historic interest, and everyday convenience. From the front door, guests can stroll along the River Wye, join countless walking and cycling routes, browse independent shops, or enjoy the town’s cafés, restaurants, pubs, and famous Monday market — all just moments away on foot.

Bakewell’s central position makes it the perfect hub for exploring the wider Peak District. Iconic stately homes including Haddon Hall and Chatsworth House are close by, while both the rugged Dark Peak and the gentler limestone landscapes of the White Peak are easily reached.

Standing directly opposite a large park with a children’s play area, the property enjoys open green views while remaining firmly within the town centre — a rare and highly sought-after setting.

Inside the House

Haddon Villa blends traditional period features with contemporary comfort, creating a warm and welcoming home that works perfectly for larger families and groups.

The ground floor features a spacious main living room with a wood-burning stove, alongside a second cosy sitting room/snug with Smart TV — ideal for relaxing after a day exploring. There is a generous dining room, perfect for group meals and celebrations, and a fully equipped kitchen including an electric range cooker, fridge/freezer, separate drinks fridge, microwave, pod coffee machine, and two dishwashers.

A utility room with washing machine and a ground-floor WC complete the ground floor layout.

Bedrooms & Bathrooms

The house offers seven bedrooms arranged across three floors, providing flexible accommodation for families and mixed groups.

First Floor

Haddon Bedroom: Elegant king-size half-tester bed with antique furniture and en-suite shower room

Hardwick Bedroom: Double four-poster bed with views over the town and park, en-suite shower room

Ashford Bedroom: Contemporary twin room, located next to a bathroom and separate shower room

Stanage Bedroom: Twin beds (can be made into a super-king), with bathroom and shower room just across the landing

Second Floor

Dovedale Bedroom: Feature room with lovely views across the town and park, en-suite WC

Curbar Bedroom: Twin room with oak furniture and fitted wardrobes; beds can be made into a super-king, en-suite WC

A full family bathroom and an additional shower room are located on the first floor.

Outside & Practicalities

Guests can enjoy an enclosed lawned garden with courtyard and garden furniture, ideal for children and dogs to relax safely. A secure bike store is also available.

One of the home’s standout features is its private off-street parking for up to 4–5 cars, a genuine rarity for a property located so centrally in Bakewell.

Gas central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels, and Wi-Fi are included. A cot and highchair are available on request.

The house iwas comfortable for 10 of us. A December stay with friends, Christmas decorations and a log fire. The house is well equipt, clean and spacious. It had everyrhing we needed. Close to town and good bus connecrion to matlock and surrounding area. I would recommend.

Stunning property. Perfect for a large family gathering. The house had everything we needed and many extra things. Very easy to checkin and excellent communication. We could not ask for any more. One query: Either the online description or the very detailed electronic guide available when you have booked is slightly confusing. There is a reference to TVs in a number of rooms and unless we were really dim, the only TV was in the room off from the living room. This was perfect for us as we wanted family time but this might not be the case for everyone. Thank you for letting us share the property.
