  • The second oldest building remaining on The Ohio State University campus, Orton Hall was opened in 1893. It is named after Dr Edward Orton, Sr. who served as Ohio State's first president, OSU Professor of Geology from 1873 to 1899, and Ohio's State Geologist from 1882 until his death in 1899. Orton Hall is built of 40 different Ohio building stones. In the outside walls, these stones are laid in stratigraphic order according to their relative positions in Ohio's bedrock. The only non-indigenous to Ohio stone used is Indiana Limestone to build the front steps. It was chosen because of its high concentration of embedded fossils. The bell tower was dedicated in 1915 and contains 25,000 pounds of bells that can be heard regularly tolling across campus. Our stay in Baltimore was great. The place was just as described on Vrbo. Very clean, comfortable quiet Manager got back with me with any questions that I had in a timely manner. She even helped out when I locked my key in the unit. We would definitely stay here again.

Weekend stay in Baltimore

I had the pleasure of staying in this apartment last Friday night with two of my girlfriends. We were in town for a short girls trip to Buckeye Lake. It was super easy to locate the house and get in to the apartment. It was beautifully decorated and more importantly, so very clean. The host gave me all the information I needed before ever even getting to the house. There’s a great local coffee shop less than a mile away that we enjoyed the following morning. Would definitely stay again!!

Relax in Baltimore Ohio

This property was perfect for me and my wife. Very well furnished with all amenities one would need for a complete comfortable stay. Eclipse and early birthday trip

Enjoyed our stay, nice and peaceful. Easy access to different areas of the state. We had friends close to Columbus area, and we drove down to Hockings Hill. Also, went to Dayton for the eclipse at the Air Force Museum. The Vrbo, was clean and spacious. The layout was nice had older home charms. Has steep stairs.

The host is super responsive and the unit is super clean and very thoughtful of its visitors. I say this because there’s so many amenities that other hosts do not think of, 1 being extra phone chargers. I will say people with bad knees, please be prepared for a Mount Everest of a hike because lorrrrrd those stairs. Whew! We will absolutely return to this town again and will be staying here again.
