The Red Roof was very delinquent on maintenance. Lights were out. The place was in need of paint and landscaping and the room they offered was dirty and need some maintenance. As result Iwe did not stay. The manager on duty told us we would get our money back since we prepaid on line. To date we haven’t received anything.

The entire room and carpet smells like sleeping ON TOP OF a homeless person who smokes. Although there is no smoking in rooms, one can clearly tell that people smoke outside and then go back in. The mattress smells like the BO of 9000 visits. The cove base is pulling apart from the wall in the bathroom and you can see the inside of the building structure. The lotion/soap dispenser by the sink has fallen off the wall and just sits on the counter with a big piece of the plaster missing above. The lamp is from 1972. The dresser drawers do not line up/close properly. The room needs a complete overhaul/remodel or fumigation from a place like SERVPRO that goes in after disasters like floods & fires. EVERY trash can on the property is overflowing daily. I paid in advance for my room on June Upon checking in on July 16 they made me pay again. ( they had no record of my advance payment) Upon checking out the person at the desk tried to act like he could not give me a printed receipt. " can I get your name and number " First of all: you have my information- you just checked me out of my room! "I am not leaving without a printed receipt" He was able to remember how to do it. NEVER spend the night anywhere near Red Roof Inn + Timonium Maryland!!!!

They need hand rails on the steps leading into the office. There was hair between the bathroom sink faucet and the wall from electric razor use. It was not cleaned even after notifying them as I left for the day. When I told the desk again later, his idea was to have me pack up and move to another room rather than cleaning the sink. He cleaned it only after I asked for cleaning materials to do it myself. There was also, what appeared to be some mold on the caulk in the tub.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The front desk staff is extremely rude. Check-in time was 3pm. We arrived for check in at 6 pm and my room wasn't ready. My travel companions were charged a $50.00 deposit for their rooms and it was not stated on the site for reservations when the reservatios were made. I, too, was about to be charged a deposit, but made issue about the room not being cleaned and ready for check-in at the appointed time. There were security concerns with disturbances of argumentative people all night long with someone crashing into a car in the parking lot and banging on doors. My travel companions did not get the amount of rest they should have. My room had an insect problem. I had to exterminate two roaches in the bathroom and bedroom area. My key to my room didn't work. I went to the front desk to get it re-keyed. The man at the front desk loudly and rudely let me know check out was at 11am before begrudgingly re-keying my card. It was 10:30. I let him know I was aware and wanted to retrieve my belongings. I did not want to stay there another minute.When I returned to complete check out, I let the front desk staff know about the bug problem, and the same rude man pointed for me to place my key in the check-out bin. The front desk doesn't care and did nothing to address the concerns of guests. This was my first and last stay at the Red Roof Inn. My recommendation: DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!

Our room toilet was sluggish, then was completely clogged. I talked to Noah, the front-office staff, asking for it to be unclogged while we are out. When we returned 4 or 5 hours later, no work had been done. When I talked again with Noah, he said there was "no mechanic" working today (a Sunday). I asked for a different room. It took 3 hours for him to get us another room. Also, the motel was basically for transients and drug addicts.
